I watched the first three seasons this summer since there was nothing on... Man! Am I glad I did. I watched the first few episodes of this show when it first came on and I didn't really care for it, but season two really hooked me and season three was great too. I'm really looking forward to season four now!

You did it the right way. The people that have tried the show and not liked it are (generally) those that try to jump right in mid season and are lost and think it's stupid. About 75% of the enjoyment of this show comes from past episodes and knowing the history of the characters IMO.

Man I couldn't agree more. I have major issues with people who don't find this show funny. It's not even about arrogance.. if you don't like The Office you don't like quality comedy.

I find the people who don't like the show are usually intrinsically different than I am, and that we probably wouldn't get along. It's that serious.

That video was hilarious, it got me excited all over again for the new season. Hah, poor Karen -- she was a total biotch at the end of last season, but still... hahaha, BURN.

I totally understand why people didn't like The Office right at first, I didn't like the first episode and neither did many of the people I work with. Michael is just so annoying and so loud, that his "Whazzuupps" in the first episode were just painful. But I decided to give it another chance since there was nothing else on, and amazingly, Michael, who is still not that funny, is funny because you know his character now.

My favorite parts of the show.. Jim's pranks (the faxes from future Dwight was classic), Michael's hatred for Toby cracks me up everytime, Kevin because we all know people like him, and Dwight's need for authority.

The only person I could do without on the show is Andy, everyone else has a personality that completes the office setting. I guess Andy is a good case for a brown-noser, but he just isn't funny IMO.

True, he did get better then. I think it is just his singing that gets on my nerves. Of course, when you are in my case and watch the episodes really fast on DVD during the summer, sometimes the character don't have as much time to grow on you as a regular TV schedule. When he got inflated at the beach and left, that was pretty funny.

Heh, Toby and Creed are definitely my two favorite side characters. Every time either one has a line (especially a talking head), I'm laughing my head off. Maybe my favorite moment/exchange from the show is during "Casino Night" when Toby just shuts Michael's plan down:

Michael: Oh, and another fun thing: we, at the end of the night, we are going to give the check to an actual group of Boy Scouts. Right, Toby? We're gonna...

Toby: Actually, I didn't think it was appropriate to invite children since it's, uh, you know, there's gambling and alcohol, and it's in our dangerous warehouse, it's a school night, and you know, uh...Hooters is catering. You know, is that not - is that enough? Should I keep going?

Michael: (after a long pause) Why are you the way that you are? Honestly, every time I try to do something fun or exciting, you make it...not that way. I hate so much about the things that you choose to be. (Michael launches back into his talk to the group) Okay!...

And there are way too many hilarious Creed quotes (we've all seen them), but some of you probably missed this little gem from the producer's cut of "The Return":

The quality is crap on that clip, but I love how they touch on the big events while Jim was gone and Creed manages to get everything wrong. "Didn't you hear? Decapitated." Hahaha, oh man, I can't wait for next Thursday.</EMBED>

I can't even watch Scrubs for 5 minutes because that severe over-actor Zach Braff makes me want to gouge my eyes out.

30 Rock is hilarious though -- I'm looking forward to new episodes of that as well, though I think The Office deserves Emmys more than 30 Rock does (better combination of comedy and drama).

And what the hell? The Wire is totally not on people's radar -- I can't believe it didn't even get nominated when it's been by far the best show on TV for a while now... At least it made it to Season 5 so we can finish out the story arc... that was always supposed to be the final season anyway, but I was concerned that it would get cancelled due to fairly low ratings and minimal attention from the big critics. I don't really care about Emmys at all, but I know the people on the shows do, so I'm bummed for them.

That's cool. This show does so good with its characters, kinda like Lost, some characters that one might not like are favorites by others. It just shows that the writers know what they are doing.
