Southwest is perhaps the biggest offender of virtually everything I said. Airlines can get away with murder in terms of how they treat people and honor their contracts (the tickets).

Why, because they're on tv? I've been on numerous airlines and just about all of them treat their customers just as bad.

I don't think she was offensive. It is just all the guys that stand up to go to the bathroom were a bit to excited and it probably showed.

It's already cramped on a plane enough, I don't need a guy sticking his stuff in my face, I go on vacation to get away from work.

Is JetBlue a national airline or regional? I ask because I took that airline from Buffalo to NYC and I tell you they treat you VERY well. I wish more airlines were as accomodating and pleasurable to deal with as they are.

Check out any industry report, you will generally see Southwest as the biggest offender of overbooking flights, bumping people for no intelligible reason, and virtually anything else that would make you say WTF? Their airline seats run 1-2" below industry norm, and stemming from that they treat overweight people considerably differently than other airlines.

Do you or a family member of yours work for Southwest or something?

As for the TV show, I am amazed they think that is a good idea. Most people I know who have seen it find it amusing, but always qualify that by stating they'll never fly with Southwest. I am also pretty sure they give their people on the ground considerably more power to make decisions than the average airline, in fact I am 90% sure they advertise(d) that fact. In giving idiots power, they make stupid decisions based off of their own personal prejudices or biases.

No I don't care about Southwest but I've flown alot and they aren't any better or worse than all the other airlines I've been on, although what really sucks about them is that they only give peanuts no matter how long the flight is. Look up how airlines work, they always overbook flights and bump people and that's not going to change anytime soon.

I'd say regional; I don't know that they don't have much of a national presence. When we lived in NY, JetBlue was THE way to travel to Florida. I was tickled pink when I found out that they now service Charlotte and Raleigh with daily flights to and from New York. But you're absolutely right, they are great to deal with. My mother-in-law was supposed to travel from Florida to New York today, but had to go to the hospital. My wife was expecting a hassle to call them and change the flight information in case she wanted to use her mother's ticket to go to Florida, but it was no problem at all... Good people.

Well, I don't think the issue is whether or not airlines make mistakes. We know they all do.

It's whether or not they are willing to own up to their mistakes and offer accomodations to the passengers.

JetBlue, apparently, has made an effort to resolve their issues from that stranded flight.

Also, it should be kept in mind that some of the time (maybe more than some) it's companies like Orbitz that make flying a nightmare and overbook flights or offer ridiculous flight transfer schedules.

I don't get it, girls in Arizona wear that EVERYDAY and its not a big deal outside of the workplace. Southwest is usually cool, this is the first time I've heard them being like this. They sing songs on the plane, pretty laid back staff. Everytime I go to Vegas, usually a flight attendant gets people excited and riled up before getting into vegas.
