Well, let me say that I am far from mainstream music guy, but there is value in Creed's music. Nothing innovative, nothing groundbreaking, but they had some good songs on that first CD. I'm not a big Creed fan by any means, but I don't understand why people have this "high and mighty" attitude toward music sometimes. You may not like it, but to so assertively address any music as absolute crap, and act like it is fact, tells me that you don't really appreciate music because you can't accept that many people may look at music differently than you.

And if you think Mark Tremonti's guitar playing sounds like everything else, well I don't think you actually listened to them. I could pick out a Tremonti song off the radio having never heard it before with no problem. Human Clay had such an "Egyptian" (for lack of a better term), sound to it. I don't see how you can see them as completely unoriginal.

Yeah, that CD was great. I'd throw "Everlong" in as a classic from this era.

Uh, if you saw my MP3 collection, you'd see nearly every genre of music under the sun, including some you've probably never heard.

That's true: Tremonti only sounds just like Jerry Cantrell and Kim Thayil about three-quarters of the time.

I'm sure that's true, in fact I don't doubt it at all. But I'm saying if you can't understand that some music just doesn't appeal to some people, while appealing to others (in this case Creed) to the point where you get on a pedestal and denounce it as "crap" as if there is no other way to see it, then you do not truly understand music.

We get the point, PK. You only like music before it achieves mainstream popularity.

Now can we please get back to the topic? I for one, actually think Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace is a really good album.

I understand music very well, thanks. And since free speech is still permitted on the Net, I'll stand by my statement that the only difference between Creed and a bucket of sh*t is the bucket.

Being a music aficionado -- which I am -- doesn't mean that you must be devoid of opinions that just might hurt the feelings of other music lovers.

Yeah, that's only why I just grabbed the new KT Tunstall, Chris Botti and Springsteen albums, and Diana Krall's greatest hits. They've never sold any records. No, none.

Music is subjective, so, it doesn't bother me if someone tells me Rush stinks it up.(favorite band) From the mid 80's to the present CD, they have. However, their new producer thought it would be a great idea if they threw some old sounds into their new music. It worked, because their new CD is their best outing since Moving Pictures. They have three songs that are just musical. Wow, brilliant, something from the past that worked.

I've only been into the Foo's since the last double CD. I thought it was pretty cool; one CD hard rocking and side 2; jazzy induced acoustic music. I did notice on the first one, slow, crescendo, slow and blood curdling yelps from Grohl, but it wasn't like AOR in the late 70's and early 80's. I can tell when REO, Journey or Styx comes on the radio because of the piano/synthesizer solo followed by guitar solo. Also, the bands above are guilty for beginning every rock band needs a ballad, followed by the hair metal and then heavy metal bands.

Musical opinions are not on fact, it's all subjective. I can't force anyone to like Rush, including my wife, she only likes one song, the chick song, Closer to the Heart.

Just to clarify, I'm not a big Creed fan. I'm not upset that you don't like them. My point is pretty much what Roadman said (apparently much better than I did). To act as though your opinion on music is somehow better because of what you listen to is ignorant, and in my opinion says you don't understand music very well, regardless of how many different artists you listen to. That's all. No one's feelings are hurt.

Formula: Hook-laden verses followed by repetitive chorus that Grohl sings after the first verse and screams after subsequent verses. Add a break somewhere in the song that slows the tempo with Grohl singing quietly, followed by a Grohl scream or solo to increase the tempo. Toss in a sweet little ballad or acoustic number -- which is becoming another Foos' cliche -- for "variety."

                              Rinse, wash, repeat.

I can't believe I'm writing this, as I LOVED the Foos through "There Is Nothing Left to Lose." But I can't think of a more respected rock-pop band in the last 10 years that has done nothing to advance its sound or test itself than this band.

The Foo Fighters are a harder-rocking version of the Goo Goo Dolls. Paint-by-numbers power pop with zero innovation.

And is that so wrong that they sound the same. If it isn't broken why fix it? I hear what you are saying, but I don't what them changing. That is the problem these band feel they need to change and some times the change is worst.

The Twins had some good songs. And at the they were pretty big. So what is your point? You either like their music or don't. There is no middle. I used to like Duran Duran and I still do like them. Must every song I liked in the 80's I still like them today.
