With the season finale this Sunday night, is there any possible scenario where Doakes remains alive? The frame job wouldn't work, because there would be too much scrutiny on Dex. The obvious indications are that Doakes and the Bitch die in an explosion.

I love the writing on this show. They tied up all the loose ends, while creating intrigue for next season (other shows need to take note that you don't need to have a 9 month cliffhanger to get people to turn in next season)

yeah...in some sick sort of way i was hoping to see her be the "Dexter of Europe"

Yeah, they blew it with her death. They could have strung this out to season 3 with Dexter always knowing that she knew he was the BHB and that she was still out there alive with that information.

Bleh, as said in previous posts, enough shows string out stuff, it's nice to have some closure IMO. There will be plenty of things for Dexter to worry about this upcoming season i'm sure.

Bleh, its nice to have some closure when it makes sense and doesnt feel like it was tacked on at the end of the episode. We have no idea how Dexter located her. I loved the finale too but dont make excuses for poor script writing and a rushed ending. They would have been better just letting her live and killing her at another point in the series.

I don't feel they have to show every single thing or it's rushed. With Dexter's law enforcement contacts at his disposal i'm sure he had a way of tracking her down. I understand where you are coming from but I disagree, as the previous poster said, to which I agree, it's nice for them to just close out this particular phase and not have a big cliff hanger ending for the next season. Too many shows rely on that and it's in itself overdone. I didn't feel the ending was rushed at all.

i can see both ways. If Dexter could locate her with his police contacts then the Miami PD would also be able to. I actually thought that part was a dream or something at first. It is nice to have some sort of closure unlike shows like the Sopranos where a storyline will just vanish. At the same time it would have been fine with me to let her live and always have the idea out there that she could snitch on him even though she could never go back to the US after trying to kill Dex & the kids in the fire.

I'm curious to see if Season 3 involves Laguardia trying to prove Doakes innocence. I personally wouldnt mind seeing Dex murder her..lol

Yeah I see it both ways too, I just like the way it was done as it was refreshing to see something different. As for Miami PD being able to find her like Dexter, well Dexter had a HUGE reason to locate her, as for Miami PD, not so much, to them the Doakes case was pretty much closed and locating an illegal alien who several police officers have said was pretty "loopy" to begin with probably wasn't high on anyone's list of things to do.

I don't feel like it's implausible for Dexter to have found her, he's been able to figure out things on criminals through out the show that the police don't (i.e. remember the car salesman who was getting womens info from their credit report and making them think he was a good guy only to go an kill them). I chalked it up to being able to think like a killer therefore he has an idea of how they think. So Dexter knowing Lila better than anyone; both personally and mentally, he would have an idea of where she would go.

Part of the great writing of the show was her development as a character. She went from mysterious hottie, to phsyco stalker, to a killer who wouldn't hesitate killing anyone who stood in her way; which I believe allowed Dexter to understand how she thinks even better (i.e. how he knew she wasn't going to turn him in). Besides she's a deranged artist, Paris would definitely be high on my list of places to find her .
