I love this show too, it is easily my new favorite show, hell it could be may favorite show period not named The Simpsons. I have just found over the years that the shows I like and find clever and well written end up getting canceled by December. Yet crap like America's Next Top Model and <insert inanely stupid reality show> stay on for years.

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
Maybe ABC would forget to cancel it because the unexpected written ambush would confuse them."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

I'm all for it. I've watched the last 2 episodes and it seems to be pretty interesting. I'd keep watching it if they kept it on the air.

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
I don't have the ratings, but this was how last week's rankings are according to most viewers. Right now it looks like it has some staying power.
1. CSI (CBS)
2. Dancing with the Stars - Mon (ABC)
3. Grey's Anatomy (ABC)
4. Sunday Night Football (NBC)
5. Desperate Housewives (ABC)
6. House (FOX)
7. NCIS (CBS)
8. Dancing with the Stars - Tues (ABC)
9. CSI: Miami (CBS)
10. Criminal Minds (CBS)
11. Without A Trace (CBS)
12. Survivor (CBS)
13. Two and a Half Men (CBS)
14. Pushing Daisies (ABC)
15. Cold Case (CBS)
16. CSI: NY (CBS)
17. Private Practice (ABC)
18. Heroes (NBC)
19. Brothers & Sisters (ABC)

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
Just found out last night's episode pulled in a 6.6 (11m viewers). That's usually good enough for more scripts to be ordered.
It lost to Deal or No Deal, but beat Kid Nation, Back to You, and Till Death.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
Yeah. It debuted ahead of Private Practice with 13 million viewers, but is now down to 9.75.
This seems bad, but TV Guide says the show is still killing in the coveted 18-49 demo, as well as the affluent (read: rich and upper-class) demo, which is great for advertisers. In other words, there is no need to worry yet, but if the ratings continue to fall this might not last long.
However, this show draws nothing but critical raves, should win many awards, and is loved by the ABC execs. Networks love having critical favorites and award winners on the schedule (though they love high ratings even more), so this show shouldn't be in any real danger unless it dips below the 7 million line (where Prison Break is currently at). This is unlikely because the show lost viewers between week one and two, but stayed pretty stagnant between weeks two and three. It seems, then, that 13 million gave it a try but only about 10 million decided to stick around and continue watching.
To put it into further prospective, 10 million (or 9.75 for last week) is on-par with Ugly Betty, ahead of Dirty, Sexy, Money and Boston Legal, but two million behind Private Practice.Comment

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
You know, a 6.6/11 is not bad at all. It isn't CSI, Without A Trace, American Idol numbers but it's better than cult favorites like Prison Break.
In fact, the 6.6 is right around Heroes numbers.
And apparently, a number of networks have ordered new episodes of several new shows. Pushing Daisies has to be one of those."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Prison Break used to be one of the top shows, but now it is getting only about 7million viewers a week. Whereas these shows like "Brothers & Sisters" and "Extreme Makeover" and "Dancing with the Stars" lead the Nation in viewers.

Re: The Best New Show: Pushing Daisies (ABC)
You gotta admit though, almost all of the non-reality show series in the top 20 are quality television.
And again, CBS is dominant. I just like mentioning them because I feel like they always get ignored when compared to ABC and NBC. ABC is always going to do it's thing. I didn't know that Heroes was NBC's top show. Maybe I should start watching House on FOX."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. CBS's top shows:
CSI
NCIS
CSI Miami
Criminal Minds
Without A Trace
Cold Case
The only 2 in the top 20 not crime dramas are Survivor and Two and a Half Men. Not judging, just making an observation.
The only CBS show I personally care about is "How I Met Your Mother"...I also watch Big Bang Theory but more because that's just a half hour to fill and I don't hate the show.
On topic, I haven't seen last night's Pushing Daisies, but I really like the show.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

You have to wonder when CBS's crime show domination is going to end...people are starting to get tired of that genre...
