    Bionic Woman

Did anyone else like the premiere?

It felt rushed to me, like they were trying to cram so much into so little time. But the Friday Night Lights and Battlestar Galactica writers and producers are now jointly working on the later episodes (the show-runner responsible for the pilot was canned), so I have high hopes for this series.

The fight scene with Katee Sackhoff (the original Bionic Woman) at the end was awesome, but that was the high point in an above average, but non-spectacular first episode.

I like the pilot...the show has potential. Michelle Ryan has spunk as Jamie Sommers, Sackhoff is the perfect villain. Next week we'll learn more about the other people helping Jamie, but I think this could be a pretty cool series. Worth a 2nd look.

My thoughts exactly that I mentioned in another thread about new fall shows.

Too much happened in 30 minutes. Way too much.

We find out basically everything there is to know about Jaime in 30 minutes ALL WHILE cramming in her change to a bionic state. There is a better way of doing this and that starts with getting her into the lab in the first 10 minutes and then discovering the rest of her life throughout the hour while the crazy first bionic woman moves in.

It just felt like scenes were incomplete or cut.

However, now that I read that the director of that pilot is gone I'll definitely give the second episode a look. But, it'll need to do a lot right to keep me in.

I think the same guy may have done the second and third episodes, but I'm not sure. All I know is that the show needed so much help that Friday Night Lights pulled director Joe Patim off FNL while in the middle of directing an episode and sent him over to Bionic Woman. But with FNL and BSG directors and writers on board, I think this series might improve drastically.

It's tough for show writers to begin a series, IMO. If they go too slowly and take time to develop it right, then the show is "Slow and boring" and gets cancelled. If they rush it, people complain too...tough to walk that fine line I think. This is worth another episode or two at least.

Yeah, I think I'll give it two to three more episodes. It almost beat out the Grey's Anatomy spin-off in terms of total viewers, so right now it is near mega-hit status. Problem is, after that pilot, people may have been turned off.

With all the BG folk attached to the project I'm going to ride this train as long as it last. With Glenn Morgan leaving, it will be interesting to see what direction they are going to go in.

It is kind of problematic when in the pilot, a recurring villain comes across as way more interesting than the hero.

You make a great point...Sarah Corvis has you wondering about her exact mental state, what she's thinking, what her motivation really is. Jamie Sommers is kinda boring in that respect, just the guinea pig in a situation she doesn't want to be in. Hopefully they can spice things up a bit more.

True, Jamie did show some attitude, especially towards the end where she said she'd work with them but on her terms.

One thing the show did do well was give the villain a character that Jamie almost seemed to admire or at elast be intrigued by.

I do agree though that things were very rushed.

Awesome second episode for the most part. Still some things that annoy me, such as the whole bookstore scene, but way better than the pilot. I'll definitely keep watching.

I think I'm done with this show.

I tried watching the second episode and it just didn't grab me. It definitely was better than the pilot (though the whole "oh lets have sex with this boy" scene made me roll my eyes).

The show looks like it has promise and could be on for a while but it's not my style.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. This show has been a huge let down for me.

I feel as if they dropped the ball with rushing the storyline. There has been very little character development leading up to her operation.

The show dropped 30% this week...

In third place, NBC has a grim morning. “Deal or No Deal” was up a bit to a 2.8. But “Bionic” fell 30 percent during its second episode to a 4.0. “Life” dropped 25 percent to a 3.0.

Moreover, this morning the industry is buzzing that the pivotal second “Bionic” episode, the result of extensive behind-the-scenes retooling, was a creative disaster—cliché-packed dialogue, a nonsensical villain, one-note characters.
