Pitchfork is saying they haven't signed with a record label, so they are only releasing it directly from their website.

The craziest part about the whole thing, there is no set price for the digital download of the album. You set your own price when you checkout from their website. That's right, you can pay $2 for the album if you want. Unreal.

There's also the box set thing which is ~$80 including shipping which I'm sure many people will pay. Hopefully they have a normal CD release of this at some point.

Really curious what direction they have gone for this album. I love all their albums and think Hail to the Thief is underrated.

I've heard most of the songs live in concert, as they are readily available on the internet, but it'll be interesting to see what they did with them in the studio. They most resemble the "Hail To The Theif" album for those wondering what their sound will be like.

I'd like to order the deluxe version but its something like $100 Canadian with shipping. That's a lot of money considering I just spent like $500+ on an iPod Touch.

For people interested in a CD-version of the album it'll likely be available in stores, via the EMI record label, in early 2008.

It might be earlier than that, there are now reports that it might get an in-store release on December 3rd from Parlophone, the same date the discbox is to be shipped to those who ordered it.

Never heard that. I think it would be a strange decision as it would be less reason to spend all that money on the Discbox.

I ended up biting the bullet and ordered the Discbox package for £40. A wonderful package for all the hardcore Radiohead fans out there. It's nice that I also get a free download on the 10th so I don't have to wait till December 3rd for the new music.

Can't wait for the 10th.

I would have done the same thing in a heartbeat 5 years ago, but I've gone from having an obsession to simply being a big fan, so I can easily pass on the discbox, although I'm sure it'll be very cool.

AtEase had the story about the single disc being released on December 3rd, apparently the single-disc is listed somewhere as being released on 12/3. Could be a mistake or something, who knows.
