Well, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and now Amy Winehouse. All troubled musicians. all dead by 27. You would assume people would learn. Can't say I'm saddened or shocked.

Don't forget Kurt Cobain,Brian Jones and of course Robert Johnson.

I can't say I listened to her music other than unfortuantly having to play through Rehab in RB 3 but I hope at least something good will come of this and maybe some of her fans doing drugs will stop.

Sorry, but I'm not giving the same regard as far as having a "disease" for something like this to a person who contracts something and has a true disease without engaging in purposeful, destructive behavior. I'm not damning her, but I'm not extending sympathy to other than those that she more than likely made life a misery. She was granted more than one gift and treated it frivolously.

I don't expect anyone to have sympathy, but going out of your way to make a joke about a junkie who just passed away? I don't see the creativity, humor nor benefit of that. Seems easy and cheap.

It is sad as this is what happens when someone is unable to kick their addiction. 27..unreal but you know.....any age is too young!

They usually will tell you it is going to kill them. Unfortunately, one just can't stop especially if they were already using multiple hard drugs with added alcohol. Add serious depression and it almost becomes inevitable.

Sad is what this really is.

That's a little shallow to say. A lot of things can lead to drug usage, and not all of those things are because the person is an idiot.

I wasnt a fan of her art, or lifestyle. But I wish the best for her family as they go through this tragedy. RIP Amy.

If you have never dealt with addiction either personally or through someone close to you. Don't throw rocks people.

It's the person's fault every time. Doesn't make said person an idiot, but it certainly doesn't happen by accident.

This is coming from someone with alcoholism in my (immediate) family and other drug use prevalent amongst more distant people I know/knew.

I agree 100% it's the person's fault. My issue is with the name calling and belittling. It's easy to sit behind a computer tell jokes and name call. But that's someones daughter , sister , and friend.
