    Best big screen HD tv?

In your opinion what is the best all around (gaming, and regular viewing) HD big screen? I plan on buying a PS3, and I think I have narrowed my choices to either LCD or Rear Projection. I like the bigger screens 50 to 60 inches. I also like Sony products, but don't have to buy Sony. Lay your thoughts on me tech guys. Thanks!

There are so many types and budgets. If you like big and have a budget, the 65" 1080p DLP Mitsubishi is amazing, and you can get one new for 1700. To get an lcd or plasma in that size you are looking at 4-5 grand or more.

      LCoS or DLP IMO.

Of course every manufacturer is different as well. A Mitsubishi DLP isn't going to be the same as a Samsung which isn't going to be the same as a Toshiba etc...

Your budget would be helpful. I have a 51" Hitachi RP CRT for like less then $800. Only concern is burn-in if it's dedicated to a gaming system. I assume 10" more inches is a little more cost.

Best bang for your buck is still going to be rear projection, DLP or LCoS. I just purchased a Sony KDS-60A3000. Sony calls their LCOS "SXRD". This tv is really amazing quality for the money. It does 1080p, has the 120hz refresh rate, and will play Blu-rays at 1080p/24, which is real nice.

Mitsubishi's Diamond series DLP's are also excellent, and Samsung's new LED engine DLP sets are nice, too, but I am not terribly fond of the build quality. The plastic housing seems incredibly flimsy for something that costs 2 grand plus. I have also read about quite a few people having issues with their sets, too.

If you can afford an SXRD that'd be great. First TV to be very close in picture quality as a CRT.

$2500 is my cap. I just can't bring myself to spend more than that on a TV. I plan on doing surround sound too.

Whats the difference between A3000, and A2020? I might consider a 50 inch.

A2020 is last year's model, basically, if I recall correctly. The A3000 does 120hz and the 2020 does not. Other than that, they are very similar in quality, I believe. The A3000's HDMI inputs are also version 1.3 (it doesn't really matter that much, but to some it will).

I would go for the 3000 just because it is newer, but if you can get a great deal on the 2020, it would definitely be worth considering.

List price on the A3000 60 incher is $2,699.99, but Best Buy and Circuit City have both been discounting it quite a bit the last two weeks. CC I believe had and still may have it at $2299.99, and Best Buy had it for $2429.99 last week. I ended up getting it at Best Buy because I had a 12% off Reward Zone coupon which made it less than Circuit City. I was able to get the tv and a 4 year warranty for basically the listed retail price.

CC won't deliver to my house? I need someone to bring it in!

Uh, why won't they deliver? They offer free shipping a lot of the time. Do you live in BFE or what?

I live south of Chattanooga. Says the item is available for in store pick up only. I'm thinking about going the A3000, and Best Buy route.

That is weak. Maybe if you go in person and buy it at the store they can deliver it. I don't see why they wouldn't. If you are doing the A3000, I would still try Circuit City. They had it priced 130 bucks less than BB last time I looked.
