I went with the JVC HD-ILA (which is JVCs LCoS technology). I love the picture, so if you want a cheaper alternative to Sonys LCoS, you might want to give it a shot.

i went to Best Buy, and Circuit City tonight. At Circuit City I was blown away by Sony's KDL52W3000. I was impressed with the picture quality, and loved the 52 inch screen. Has anyone bought a TV from lcdplasmadeals.com? CC had the above set listed at 3,199.99, and lcdplasmadeals.com is asking 2,299.00. Whats up with that? How can they sell the tv for such a low price? I looked at Samsung's LN-T4665F at CC, and BB. I wasn't impressed with the picture. Hey Coach Bryant, good luck on your purchase...though I would stay away from the not so well known online retailers. I've had good luck with Vanns.com, a wholesale dealer based in Montana. They are pretty competetive and the shipping is damn prompt (ordered my now defective Mits DLP and had it within a week half the country away).
I also ordered my home theater system from them and had that within 72 hours (lived in Boise at the time).
That being said, I would invest in the warranty. Read my post in the HDTV thread, but at least with rear projection sets you will at least get a free bulb replacement over the warranty term, and that part alone costs as much as the warranty...so it's a good deal in that regard.
Since I'm looking again (not sure if I'll buy yet another display) I've been looking at the Vizio line since they are cheap, as well as the Bravia Sony LCD's and if I can turn the wife, the Panasonic PRO plasmas (assuming we do buy again and she likes the flat panels). Then again...burn in with hours of XBL gaming and ESPN...

Just another idea. You've waited this long and still doing your homework. Just wait for black friday. The ads usually start rolling in a week prior. You'll probably find something for a ultra sweet price.Comment

Ok. I think I've decided to buy the Sony KDS-60A3000. The 60 inch screen is irrestiable, and I'm satsified with its picture quality. I know that the LCD's look better, but I feel that I'm getting more bang for my buck buying this tv. CC has it on sale right now for 2,499.99. Should I pull the trigger, or wait till Black Friday? I would wait a bit. You may not even have to wait until Black Friday. That tv has been on sale every week since it has been out. Regular retail on it is $2,699.99, but you will never see it at that price. CC just had it for $2299.99 last week. Wait at least a few more weeks and see what's up with the ads every Sunday. You are bound to see it cheaper than CC has it this week. I was able to get mine for like 2700, including tax, 4 year extended warranty, and delivery. Sit tight a bit.
It is an excellent tv, too. By far the best bang for your buck you are going to get with a screen size that large. The picture quality, imo, beats out a lot of the plasmas I have seen, too. There is also a site called techdepot.com (an offshoot of Office Depot) that has been advertising the set for 2100 and change. A lot of people were able to print that price out and price match at BB, CC, or even Sears. Your mileage may vary, obviously, but it's worth a try.Comment
