I agree about Jim Morrison. I'm not a fan of the Doors,but to have him at #10??.
Iirc....weren't his lyrics taken using his poetry?

Not really the guitar player wrote most of the hits. Jim wrote some really weird songs though.

That list is just silly. Yes, Sting is a worse lyricist than Linkin Park, Blink 182, Sum 41, Korn, Limp Bizkit, and their ilk.

Common and KRSOne are much worse than Soulja Boy, Game, A Bay Bay guy, the Ying Yang Twins, Tony Yayo, Baby, and Young Jeezy.

Those two were at my school's homecoming concert. Talk about the downsides of going to school in the south...

Seeing Common, KRS-One, and Timbaland (who if replaced by, say, Missy, I wouldn't blink twice), I regret even giving their website a hit for this bootsie list.

Not to mention the fact that they are technically not even rockers..........

I give you that. But if, rappers are in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, then they can be on this list.

McCartney's lyrics since leaving the Beatles have been pretty bad, imo. However you can't just throw away what he did with the Beatles.

This is list dumb because they didn't stick to any particular formula. They should've either went with the 40 most overrated lyricists or the 40 worst lyricists, not a combination of both.

You must question the credibility of a story and writers who can't even get facts straight. This was quoted as an example of Noel Gallagher's bad lyrics:

Worst lyric: “Walking slowly down the hall faster than a cannonball” (“Live Forever”)

Nice try. That lyric is from "Champagne Supernova," not "Live Forever."

Foolish story.
