      Its a good buy.

HP and Dell are cheaper for a reason. You get what you pay for.

There is a reason mac sales are exploding
Well TheMatrix already explained it, I have a much better computer than the macbooks I looked at. There's no reason for me to pay for the Apple name and brand, which is what most people do.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

How difficult/expensive from a hardware perspective is a mac to work on? IMO, that's also a driving force for PC's in the business world.

Don't buy a Mac if you have any aspirations of serious gaming on that laptop. That is, unless you use Boot Camp to install Windows on that Mac, which makes no sense when you can buy a PC with Windows built in.

            Take care,

I have a Gateway I bought for around $800 and I couldn't be happier. I'd say if you're prepared to spend $1500, you don't have much to worry about; chances are no matter what you buy it'll be nice at that price.
