The country was bad, but everywhere else was worse. They were the only "good" country left. The UK didn't want to fall like the rest of the world so immigrants were persecuted.

The idea was that if there weren't any children in the world, there would be less reason for people show common decency. Sure...it's an abstract idea to think that the fabric of society depends on the presence of children and that every country would fall into total anarchy except one, but I thought it was explained clearly.

I was disappointed with the ending. It just ended rather suddenly. I guess the whole point was protecting this woman and once Theo (Clive Owen) did that there was no point in continuing the story. But it still seemed rather odd to just have them sitting there on a boat and cutting straight to black.

Yea, I thought this was one of the best things about the film. It really painted a dreaded picture of what a future would look like if the world's population knew that there were no more children to continue humanity.

Well, there truly is no answer for the son in War of the Worlds. It was a cheesy ending and a stupid movie.

            Heres one:

The cop in Final Destination 2. They show a log go through his windshield killing him, yet there is no "death" in store for him. I haven't seen it in a long time, but I had always thought they messed up on his part.

He died first in Kimberly's premonition, and since Death was working backwards in FD 2, he was supposed to die last, meaning Kimberly was before her. Kimberly learned that "Only new life can defeat Death" and discovered the significance by killing herself, so she drove into the lake and drowned. Once she was revived, she was "reborn", thus screwing up the design, so the cop was free, essentially.

So, in other words you just gave a brief description of why Final Destination 2 sucked big time.

In Hunt for Red October, why does the crash on the carrier change Fred Thompson's mind where he then allows Alec Baldwin to go out to the sub?

One scene just popped into my head...it's the scene in Jurassic Park where they're crawling through the ducts...how in the world does the Raptor burst through and knock the panel out that Lex nearly falls through?????

When she's hanging, it clearly shows that there's nothing under the hole and it just goes to the floor. The Raptor couldn't have jumped because it's there for a few seconds.

Just always thought that was hilarious....like it had an expandable neck or something.

has nothing to do with movies at all.... but what does it mean when shoes are hung over phone wires? I've never figured out what that meant.

It depends on where you are.

It has numerous meanings. The one I'm familiar with around here is that if you see those shoes up there it means there's drug dealing going on around that block.

At the end of He Got Game I really didn't get how or why Jake/Denzel throws the ball over the prison gate and it somehow shows up at the gym where Jesus/Ray is shooting around?
