This is interesting. I also find it interesting that in many cases of UFO discussion, the overall concern is that we would be at threat by life outside of earth's.

Why is it that we are to presume they wish to attack us?

If you were an outsider to this world, and you saw what was going on... Would you be inclined to NOT wipe us off the face of the Earth? I sure as hell wouldn't!

If there are ships 10x the size of ours, glowing and moving at very fast speed, then the life outside of earth is most likely more progressed. But, if there is other life flying around in these more advanced vessels, why don't they try and communicate with us? Why is it that the life we believe to be "out there" is always projected to be more intelligent than us?

Personally, I think it's man's nature to want to believe in something more than human life.

One of the theories floating around for a number of years is that the world governments are sort of "easing" the world population into the reality of aliens among us. If it was thrust upon us years ago all at once they feared it would produce mass panic and chaos.

So, for the past 30 or 40 years they have brought more and more info forward so the population could get used to the idea. This info has been disseminated both discretely and overtly through tv shows, movies, books, photos, rumors, space missions, etc. It has allowed us as humans to come to terms with the fact slowly over the course of the last 50 years or so.

Not saying I subscribe to the theory, but I have heard it proposed before....

I was going to mention this when I saw the thread. I've heard this theory as well and honestly I believe it more than any other theory out there (if we've already been in communication with other life forms).

A lot of the same stuff is done with technology, though not as a measure to prevent chaos but mostly as a way to promote knowledge of technology such as advanced weapons. I've read that the government possesses weapons at least 5 years advanced of the technology we see in movies. It might even be more advanced today considering the speed at which technology grows.

Anyway, this is an enjoyable conversation bit. Seems like there are people involved in government interested in understanding the UFO phenomena. I don't know how much we'll actually learn since it would be a big WTF if someone just said, "Ok, we've lied all these years. They are living amongst us."

I'm sure it'll be more of the same, stories being leaked, things being said, but the major difference will be more proof to support the stories.

I personally believe the Universe is far too broad for there not to be other life forms. This is simple, but in junior high, my science teacher was explaining the infinite Universe. he said, "If there's a wall, what's behind it?" That just blew my mind. It's endless. Crazy.

It's time the gov't. comes clean with what they know just like the stuff about JFK's assassination and other things.

We know they know things from Roswell to Project Blue Book to Area 51 to the Majestic 12, etc. The public has the right to know.

I'm more of the belief that stuff like roswell and aliens in the 50's was to deflect attention away from what the govenment was really doing with secret airplanes and such. With aliens so engrained in our popular culture, people mock those who think they've really seen something unknown. Not many serious news media outlets look into accounts, and they are left to discussions between some mockable people who think the queen of england and bush are aliens in disguise.

Whether or not aliens have been visiting earth is one thing, but the government using the excuse as cover for their secret activities is a different thing to take into consideration. I don't think there is any secret world government at all. They all just realize how easy of a cover it is to encourage ufo and alien talk while they test missiles or planes. It was easier for the US to say they were investigating alien ufo sightings instead of admitting they were flying odd looking spy planes over russia in the cold war.

Simple, let's look back at human history. Every single civilization that has infringed upon an existing society has wrecked it to pieces. Sometimes it was predatory (an attack) and other times the existing society fought for their freedom.

If tribal warfare in Africa, the slaughter of the American Indian, modern day genocide and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict isn't proof that we always find a way to destroy each other then nothing will.

An advanced civilization may want to "study" us or at the worse anihilate humanity.
