Lot of message boards claim to have originated it, but most agree that it started on 4chan /v/ the day of the premier of the Grand Theft Auto 4 trailer. Brilliant members linked people to the Rickroll video on youtube, and the rest is history.

Don't forget dk, in your 10k post thread I mentioned how I somehow managed to have a dozen Rickroll sessions playing at once. Sounded like Rick Astley was singing in a concert hall with horrible acoustics...or maybe in a tunnel. Pure beauty.

I actually don't mind the song at all even after hearing it more this year than the entire 1980's decade. I'm all about the 80's music!
