Spice 1 was discoverd by Too Short in the late 80's.He had really only a couple of big rap songs "Welcome to the Ghetto" and "Strap On the Side" as well as "Trigga Gots No Heart".His best cameo was on E-40's classic "Dusted and Disgusted.Great rapper until he left Jive records and then it became just more of the same ol.Still he never sold out just to sell more cd's.

One guy asked "who?" in the Pimp C thread. An honest question, and people acted as if he was a commie.

I was never a big fan of Spice 1, but I do respect his talent as an artist. His first single "187 Proof" is innovative at its time in the way he mentioned a lot of different liquors and brews to tell a story. His second album 187 He Wrote is nice and it still sounds good today. That one is my personal favorite of all his albums. His third album AmeriKKKa's Nightmare is really good too. On this one there's a hell of a colllabo track with Method Man of all people in "Hard To Kill". Talk about a clash of styles and personalities. But strangely, this was what made it dope though.

Spice 1...haven't heard that name in years. I think one of his CD's is in a box at my parents house (right next to a Shaq CD), back from when I was way into hip-hop.
