    Dating Sites

Do you guys use dating sites to meet girls?

I'm not trying to bust anyone's chops or nothin, but I personally would never do it. I just feel like the old-fashioned way of meeting girls should never change. No substitutes for it imo.

    what do you guys do/think?

just hangin out somewhere (could be a bar, but this is not my thing) and then meeting a girl, getting to know her, you both hit it off, and then you take it from there.

from my experiences, I'll go hang out with my friends, and someone will be a friend of a girl that I have my eye on and I would like to get to know... This is all before you know anything about them (which is what you get with dating sites ... which can sometimes or most times be lies and fabrications because you write your own profile).

I've never done it, but I know a lot of dudes who pick up freaks online. They live by dating sites, apparently it's almost too easy to score with online chicks.

I don't think he was talking about Adult Friend Finder.

Me personally, I prefer the old fashion way. It's very easy for people to disguise their tendencies, behavoiurs and personality over the internet. so most times when these online people meet up the person they thought they were talking is totally different.
Socializing in person provides a better way of reading girls...

lol... Adult Friend Finder... it's like a prostitution ring. The people who run the site get paid to hook people up for sex.

exactly my line of thinking. That's why I find it interesting that people have so much trust in dating sites. I hear commercials all the time for it.

I met my wife on Match.com about 4 years ago. It was honestly the first time I ever contacted someone off of one of those sites with the intention of actually meeting them in person.

I didn't have a profile or anything like that...I was just "window shopping" when I came across her profile. After reading it, she sounded so amazing to me that it prompted me to create my own profile and pay the $19.95 so that I could contact her. Best $20 I ever spent!

I did what you do while I was in college and all, but now that I'm older (27) not as many of the friends of friends are single so it's not as good of a way to depend on. I personally hate meeting random people in bars to date, I'm just past that "sleep with everyone" phase. You also can't get to know anyone in a loud bar, at least not very well.

I have tried eHarmony and met a bunch of cool women...It's different than match and yahoo personals. Those don't seem really any different than a bar. With eHarmony you're paying quite a bit to join, so you have more of a shot that people are serious and not playing games. No one is gonna drop that coin and be a total jackass, you know? It really all just depends on where you are in your life and what you're looking for. eHarmony is definitely a bit more serious minded, people with some long term goals, not just "having fun dating".

I will say that the eHarmony system did match me pretty well with people. Everyone I ended up talking to were people I got along with and would date. I'm still in the first couple dates with someone now, and i had someone else I dated for a while before we realized it wasn't right.

I personally tried out eHarmony because I just moved to a new area so don't have that friend network to fall back on and trust to find me quality dates. Once you're past college you don't meet as many new people every day, so things change.

I've also known friends of friends who'd meet people off myspace and whatnot, those girls were apparently really really freaky! Not dating material in the slightest.
