Did you run the virus program in safe mode?

Your computer is really screwed up. You have bigger things to worry about than your Firefox bookmarks. Almost sounds like OS reinstallation time.

" windows cannot find "c:windows\system32\winupdated.exe. Make sure ypou typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search file click the start button and then click search"

I close that and then I get this pop up "could not load or run "c:windows\system32\winupdated.exe. specified in the registry. Make sure the file exisits on your computer or remove the reference to it in the registry"

One more pop up is "internet explorer cannot find the active desktop html fiel the file is needed for your active desktop. to turn off active desktop click ok.

One more thing, i can't get into task manager either.

        Aaaaaah!

Should I just buy a virus protector?
Do virus/trojan check in safe mode. After that I would save any important files and reformat the HDD. That is probably your best bet.

Who is your internet provider? Some give free anti-virus, spam, and firewall protection. Like Comcast over here gives all three with McAfee for free.

No, I didn't. Should I go and do that?

format the hd and re-install windows unless you have important stuff on there.

                No anti-virus?

Download this and run a check in safe mode. The program is good and free.

Some of these may require a specific removal tool. Which Anti-virus do you use?

Also, make sure the program runs at start-up and just run in safe mode not safe mode with networking.

yeah, if you google each one of those virus, there may be a tool you have to download to remove it properly.

hopefully you don't do any online banking. That Trojan Banking one steals your info.

Only thing I do is log into my checking account to check out how much I have in my account and that's it.

                        Will that be a problem?

I wouldn't do anything until I got rid of those viruses. That trojan can give someone your password.

That is all the info they need! Stop doing it until your computer is free and clear.

Therefore it would be a good idea to change your password on a non-infected computer.
