Yes but thats not the case here. In 2006, he came out with a gangsta rap album that sold nothing. He was off the radar and nobody cared about him. In 2007, he decided to speak out in support of not using the n word and got press for it. So he decided to run with it. This is a money grab nothing else.

From 04-06 he released 4 gangster rap albums and all of them flopped. Thats why I dont buy this "maturity" claim. He's a hustler who's trying to extend his 15 min.

Let me be clear: I wish there was more positive rap nowadays. I miss the 80's when you had a mix of conscious and positive rappers, party rappers and thug rappers. I'm just not going to give credit for someone like P who's only doing this as a money grab.

Literally every single song on his first few albums referenced crack sales.

Hell, his breakthrough albums were "Ice Cream Man" and "Ghetto D". There's really no more simple way to put it.

I'm not sure if y'all watched the hip hop vs America round table discussions on BET about 2 months ago. P was on there and spoke about his change in life. It may take some people many many years to see that their current lifestyle is the best route. NOne of us are finished products at the age of 20,30,40, even 50. We all have more life and more of life's lessons to live and learn.

It may take some people many many years to see that their current lifestyle is the best route. NOne of us are finished products at the age of 20,30,40, even 50. We all have more life and more of life's lessons to live and learn.

I saw it and I still dont believe him. Its too coincidental in my opinion.

I'm not sure. I just don't like him, and hated to see him get all puffed up. He makes terrible music but you can't really blame him since he has millions. I just hate how he can say "well look at so and so, get mad at them, they do the same ish". I also don't buy his "well this is the environment I grew up in". Just because you grew up in it doesn't mean you have to glorify it.

i have never liked P's music, but i gotta give him credit for his buisness savy. he has sucesfully flipped every hustle posible all steming from very limited rap talent and zero acting talent. I also feel he has matured alot and seems to be doing a good job schooling Romeo. he talks very positively in most interviews these days.

the argument going on in this thread shouldnt be is it hip hop or not, of coarse its hip hop. the question is what kind of hip hop is it.
good? bad? commercial? underground? pure uncut? mainstream? etc. etc.

This song is pathetic. Why the hell does Romeo have his shirt off and why is he rapping about girls. I just don't feel like there is a good message in this song and couple that with the ****ty generic southern beat, it makes one crappy song.
