Re: Official : Heath Ledger's death an 'accident'...
Around here it's not a new thing. We had kids dying from pain medicine back in the mid to late 90's. Kind of surprising to see that it's a new thing out there.
Meth is still huge here, but it's dropping off more and more as the DEA/FBI, whoever, is cracking down on it hard core.Comment

A friend of a friend died while on Xanax about 6 years ago. He didn't die because of an OD, he died because the Xanax made him more or less pass out and he hit his head when falling to the ground. Just happens that nobody was home, so they didn't get to him in time.Comment

that is what I think happened. Those pain pills loose their effectiveness after you are on them a while. My Fan Page http://theusualgamer.net/MyFanPage_Heelfan71.aspx

Well, heroin is in the same class of drugs as morphine (opioids). Cocaine was also marketed as an analgesic but it wasn't marketed like heroin. Heroin was marketed pretty hard by Bayer.
I think this was accidental in so far that he didn't intend to kill himself. The part that wasn't accidental IMHO was that he took those drugs all at once. That's a hell of a lot of meds to take at one time and no sane physician would even come close to suggest taking all of those in a short time frame. One painkiller is enough, but two (both Oxycontin and Vicodin) is just a little bit strange. The benzos would just have even more of a depressive effect on his CNS.
Anyway, still a terrible death.Last edited by Spectre; 02-06-2008, 07:32 PM.
