LOL, you know i debated about that honestly but even on my last PC i never used a floppy drive once. Everything is always on the net or via cd/dvd now a days.

As for a Mac, I am more tempted by their laptops honestly than a desktop. I still have to get a laptop and i may go with a Mac in that area.

Very nice! I remember when I got my last computer...almost 3 years ago already. It takes a little while to get it up to your "specs" but after that it's all gravy.

Yeah i hear it's pretty crappy compared to XP. I still have my XP Pro though so if i hate it utterly I will just install XP. I hope I can learn to live with it though because we all know this is what we all will have to eventually run, not XP.

I remember when I was going to buy my first pc... I look and see there are these new things called cd drives. Well hell there aren't any games out on that, I better get the one with the 5.25" and 3.5" floppies.

Nothing like spending a crap load of money without doing any research!

It's unfair to judge a Windows OS before SP1 comes out, hopefully it fixes the major issues. If its done right, now is the time a lot of companies will start migrating towards Vista and the XP support will start to drop off, if you plan on having the PC for a while, Vista was probably a good choice.

I'm not 100% on this, but I think they released it in the past week or two to manufacturers for new machines being built, but it won't be available online to current users for another month or so. And I don't think they're pushing it Automatic Update until another month or so after that.

I could be wrong, I haven't really been tracking it or anything, just heard/read some things in passing.
