Dave was like the king of the school, so no one messed with Billie. He was very talented though as a kid. He had made a record at age 10. I hung out with him a lot, but when he went and got his hair blue. I kind of back away. lol Especially when he quit football to practice his music. I know Mike too. We all go up together in Rodeo. It is a small town and Billie was in my grade and I met him in kindergarten. Drugs were pretty heavy in his life. He is finally clean, at least that is what I hope, you never know with drugs.
One more his sister Holly was so freaking fine. She was a legend around Rodeo, she had to be the most finest girl I have ever seen. She look like Farrah Fawcett and this was back in the 70's, so she was the it girl.
    That's pretty awesome man.

Yeah he is cool. I still can't believe how big they got. He was driven though. Sometimes when I am out with him it is weird. People coming up and wanting autographs and pictures. To me he is just Billie from Rodeo. lol Even at our HS reunion he showed up and people went crazy and they are the same people he grew up with. Go figure. Evey time it got too crazy he would go outside and take a smoke. The life of being famous a guess. The truth is every time I hear anything about Billie, I think of his sister Holly damn she was hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah the Grammys are a trip. I still like to watch it. They do have some good acts on there if you ask me. I do like Amy's voice.

Don't have a scanner, but when they had him in the Driven show on VHone, you could see my best friend and me in the pic next to him, when they showed a class pic of him. lol I will check with my mom and see if she still has pics of us growing up. I remember when he hit in the butt playing baseball. He was pitching and I was batting in a little league game. Man, that hurt! lol

You're gonna have to go into more detail to say my argument fails. Murder? Did Amy kill someone I don't know about? We are talking about Amy winning awards right and not the crack epidemic on a whole? Like I said, if Amy is the only reason your kid or any kid knows about crack then there are much bigger problems. By the way, there are alcoholics that have killed people (at least one still playing in the NFL) but we only crucify the ones that have. Maybe I'm missing your point (you didn't write too much) but you can't assume every crack head is a murderer or even potential murderer.

perhaps congress should form a committee to investigate the cocaine problem in showbusiness? They can have a congressional hearing lol

It might be hard for Congress to call Amy Winehouse to testify considering she's British. Maybe the House of Commons can stage a sideshow like the U.S. Congress does with hearings on a regular basis.

Then again, the House of Commons is a sideshow unto itself. Ever watch any of the proceedings on C-SPAN? Fantastic viewing -- the representatives are talking smack to each other constantly.

Too bad they didn't have TV technology back in Churchill's prime. I've read books on the man and Commons proceedings back in the 20's-40's were even more rowdy and full of smack talk then it is today.

Even so, the British House of Commons makes Canada's look like a tea party.

                        Re: Grammys 2008

I'm kinda in the middle of the Winehouse discussion. In a way I feel that giving her all the awards, IS a bad influence on her younger fans. I mean, they hit YouTube and they'll see her sneaking in a few snorts during a performance. Her actions off stage (and sometimes on!) disgust me, yes, but can the Grammy association not give her the award? They are commending her excellence in music, not her stupidities in front of the camera. So it may have been a tough decision, to give it for her music, or to not give it for her drug use/bad influence?

And about other bands, like the Beatles and pretty much every single band/artist (this is a generalization, I know there are clean artists!) from the 60's up until now; they've dabbled with drugs, but the difference between them and Amy Winehouse is that they didn't get caught on camera. They kept their addictions to themselves, whereas AW has a new video posted online everyday, making a fool of herself.

BTW, is it me of does she only have one song? I've listened to her album and "Rehab" is the only song that catches my attention. She has a great voice; hopefully she isn't a One Hit Wonder.

lol i agree. I was being sarcastic

It would be a circus. Im sure congress has better things to do, like steroids in MLB. It's supposedly a "detterant for kids"...i guess steroids are a bigger problem for kids in this country than narcotics are? (yea right, i doubt steroids are 1/1000th of the problem that narcotics are)..

Yes it seems "rehab" is the only real good song. I don't know where you go off saying she has a great voice. It doesn't sound that great to me. Maybe it's the style or the way she uses it but it sounds a bit grating at times.

Yeah my bad. I meant to use great in the sense that it's different/unique. It sounds like she has a ball of hair stuck in her throat at times.

She would never be on my list of top female vocalists.

I think the bigger difference between the two is that steroids improve your performance. It is getting/it's at the point where aspiring baseball players have to take steroids if they want to be on equal ground (obviously there are exceptions). On the other hand, Columbia Records doesn't say, "If you want the bills, you're going to have to roll them up first".
