There's too much cloud cover here in SD. I can't see it.

Been watching it for the last 40 minutes or so. Of course right when it's supposed to get totally covered, the clouds come.

Go check it out. It'll be partially covered at least.

I went out about 8 to check things out, and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. So I set up my tripod, and took a few shots of the moon. Go back out about 9:30-10:00, and wouldn't you know it. Completely cloudy.. I'll post the first couple shots from earlier in the evening. Hopefully someone here was able to capture it.

From 10:01 to 10:50 EST the lunar eclipse with be in totality. By about 1:00 AM EST it'll be pretty much over. Enjoy if you can see it through the clouds.

I'm supposed to be drawing pictures of the moon at 10-15 minute intervals for my astronomy class, but without binoculars or a camera, it's kind of difficult. Still is cool to look at, though.

Looks beautiful under clear, cold skies here in upstate N.Y. Went for a 1.5-mile walk in 15-degree temps tonight, smoking a delicious Romeo Y Julieta cigar, and watching the eclipse.

                        A very pleasant night.

                        Take care,
