I did see that The Lucky One is going to be $3.99 on Black Friday at Best Buy if you want to wait until then. I only got it today for $7.99 because I was using a Reward Zone certificate towards my total.

Doubt there is any chance I actually go out shopping on BF, and her birthday is Tuesday, so if I can't get anything else I may just grab those.

I'd probably only get her the DVDs though. Save a few bucks. No need to buy her ****ty movies on BR, LOL

The Barnes and Noble Criterion sale has been extended until next week.

I just did a quick count and I now have 62 different Criterion Blu-rays in my collection:

My goal is to hit 100 Criterions by the end of next year.

For Blzer or anyone else with 3D blu rays: Looking for recommendations on future 3D purchases.

Instead of upgrading my LG plasma, I picked up a 3D converter box: 3D Wizard
                  http://www.amazon.com/3D-Video-Wizar...ords=3D+wizard

I figured for $30 (box, remote, 4 adult size glasses, and HDMI cable) it was worth a shot. Combined with a 3D blu ray player + 3D content...it works surprisingly well. Claims to do 2D to 3D conversion but not bothering with it.

                  Have or in transit:
                  Avengers
                  Titanic
                  Prometheus
                  My Blood Valentine

Going to get The Amazing Spider-Man for Christmas, but didn't see it in 3D in theaters.

I may have more outside of what you already own, but that's thinking off the top of my head. I'd stay away from Saw 3D, but I'm not really remembering what I have or what is out there otherwise.

'preciate it. ASM in 3D was very good in the theaters. (I ordered the 2D version though)

Went ahead and rolled the dice on these:
                      Alice in Wonderland
                      Conan the barbarian
                      The Darkest Hour

Close to pulling the trigger on the last Underworld movie.

I'd add Avatar for sure. I just watched The Amazing Spider-man in 3D this weekend, get that too.

Transformers is really good in 3D, glad to see that on your list. I don't really watch the cartoon/animated stuff, but the one I do have is How to Train Your Dragon, that one is real funny and looks great in 3D.

For the movies that you only care about the 3D version, you can do what I do and look on eBay for people selling just the 3D disc. You can get them for around $12 which is a good deal when the movie is new.

It looks like that thing still uses old 3D glasses tech, it simply converts 3D signals to anaglyph (red/cyan glasses).

Not saying it's bad, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. Did you read up any reviews on it first?

That's exactly what it does. For $30 it accomplishes 2 objectives: 1) Provide depth and 2) Let's you watch high quality 3D content.

It's not going to ever be mistaken for active shutter 3D or even passive 3D but for the occasional 3D movie it does the job.

Obviously to get a true blu ray 3D experience you need a 3D display. I won't watch enough 3D movies to justify getting a new display just for 3D.

I read reviews the reviews and they fell into 2 camps: those with reasonable expectations and those with unrealistic expectations.

With that being said, I wouldn't have paid anywhere close to the MSRP of $150 though. $50-60 max

Blzer, did you end up keeping your TV calibration settings that Best Buy did at your house, or did you go back to what you had originally?

Asking because I have not heard back from Chad B. and I wrote an e-mail 2 months ago. Been thinking about the Best Buy calibration.
