Why? Jeff Healey was an AMAZING guitarist. He recorded what I view as the best version of While My Guitar Gently Weeps of all time. To anyone who is a fan of the blues or jazz, he is a household name.

I hope he pulls through, but pancreatic cancer is almost always fatal. It's what felled Michael Landon at the relatively young age of 54 (Swayze is 55). That being said Swayze's doctors' are a lot more optimistic then I remember Landon's doctors' were.

Nope, he's Canadian and is really big here. His death was one of the top news stories on every newscast after all the hard news.

Yep, looks like this story is true. A friend of my father died of the same thing and it wasn't very pretty.

I had actually missed this news on the original post and happened to come across it today while ready a time magazine in the waiting room of a doctor's office. I had vaguely heard of Jeff Healey, but didn't know he was the "blind guy musician in "Road House". I didn't even know that guy was really blind.

I saw some pictures today and it appears he's not doing well at all. According to the site, WWTDD, he was getting chemotherapy in LA, but the cancer was not responding and Doctors can't do anything else. So, today he flew to his house in New Mexico to spend his last days. Here's the article:
