    Re: Journey

Just a heads up for any Journey fans out there. The cd/dvd package is released this Tuesday 6/3 exclusively at wal-mart. I've heard it and am impressed with Arnel Pineda (the new singer). Hope you guys check it out if you can.

Yeah he is good, but wow Steve is the man. I love that guys voice. This guy is really good, but to me Journey is Steve.

I think you are wrong, he did have a vocal problem, they talked about it on behind the music and he siad they thought it was pretty bad too. I think singing like that can do so bad things on the throat.

Came back in '96 for "Trial by Fire" - that album had Perry, Schon, Cain, Vallory, and drummer Steve Smith all together..

I haven't seen BTM w/ Journey since it aired many, many years ago but if you remember what part? Steve never mentioned he had any damage or problems with his voice that I remember. I don't even believe there was a segment on the show that put any light on him having any damage. He was just burnt out after 1986. Thats why he quit or left it in limbo for ten years. There's no doubt you need to stay in shape and stay away from the substance abuse problems some people occur like drinking and drugging to sing a catalog like Journey's. You pretty much have to live like an athlete. Of course stay away from the roids, lol!

I think they have a couple of them. Becasue the one I saw he talked about having a voice scare. They first thought it was cancer. He talked about it on one of those shows. Maybe it was a cover up, but he did mention it. You sing like that I wouldn't be shock if it did cause some vocal problems.

                Re: Journey

                Journey fans should get this.

12 bucks for 2 CD's and a DVD of Live music.

The new disc, I've heard only about three songs from the live DVD, but if After All These Years isn't a hit, I'll stop listening to music. If your married or in a long term relationship, that song is great.

No one can replace Steve Perry, but this guy, is good.

The drummer does a great job singing on Mother, Father.

                After All These Years.

The new guy has a great voice. I think he still needs so practice though. He is not as smooth as Steve. Especially with some of the notes.

As I said, no one will replace Steve Perry.

He should be his own singer, anyway, so , there isn't Steve Perry comparisons going around.

No wonder it's difficult to follow a legend. Rodgers with Favre, Manning and whoever else, and then Steve Perry and whoever else.

It has to be difficult for the new singer wherever Journey goes, the fans and media will try to compare him with Perry.

It's a new Journey and it should be looked like that.

I just saying his notes don't really smooth out. He has an awesome voice though.

I was just thinking of that song when my children get married.

                              It is a great song.

That guy is a phenomenal singer. It's difficult though for me to personally accept this as Journey considering I grew up with them and Steve Perry is the face of Journey.
