IMO the first 2 seasons were weaker than whats come after. But even those season were better than 99% of other comedies. Season 3 picked things up (though Matt and Trey dont agree) and the show just seemed to get better and better from there. I dont really think the show has a prime.
Season 7 finished out on a really great run though......

I actually thought it was a good episode, definately not the greatest. I laughed a lot though, and thats why i watch SP.I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.
