Most of the people here seem to have just started watching the show, and they don't realize the trove of truly golden material that is out there. Chinpokemon is their magnum opus imo and there are many many great episodes like it. Christian Rock Hard episode I guarentee you will be funnier than anything seen this season, the Towlie stuff was great, etc. Just thinking of last season the guitar hero episode wasn't that good but because it was contemporary people could relate to it. The three part series wasn't that good at all and could have easily been condensed into one. The Chris Hanson one again was contemporary but wasn't anything special, and I cannot remember the other episodes for last season (the bug one sucked too).
Christian Rock Hard is one of my favorite episodes. And The List, which was the final episode of Season 11, I thought was very good. Season 11 definitely had a couple down episodes like D-Yikes and the Homeless one.

I hope Towelie makes an appearance in Season 12, but not like in A Million Little Fibers. I hated that episode.

I love the character Towlie as well. They have so many great characters that they barely use (like Kyles cousin) that they should slow down on making new ones and bring back some of the old guys. I will say that the last one I loved was the midget/ N word episode. Another great vintage south park I think is the one where Cartman joins NAMBLA. That scene of him at his computer typing in "I am 8 years ol ..." and then being bombarded with im's (which if you stop and pause on ur tivo u will see funny *** messages) was amazing. The David Blaine episode was also a great classic.

I'm not saying you are talking about me, but I'm obsessed with South Park. I've seen every single episode at least three times. Trust me, I know the show, and I know it has been better in its second half of existence than its first half. Every season hasn't necessarily been better than the last, but overall, the show didn't become real good until around Season 5, and it is still extremely good. Season 7 is probably my favorite.

The contemporary stuff is what makes the show much more mature. I still think the "boys being boys" episodes are still the best, but for long term strength, it has to draw from contemporary culture, and they do it well. There are only so many things you can do with the four boys.

Nah I'm talking about the vibe I get in general from people here and the whole "new crowd" of fans. Honestly when I say seasons 3-5 I am talking out of my *** in that I am ballparking when I felt the show was in its prime. If you could tell me some episodes from season 7 then I could see where your coming from. Season 7ish was around five years ago (2003) and I still thought the show was great then so I'd probably be likely to agree with many of your thoughts. My entire point I think is when I say it has been declining "lately" I mean there are less genious quality episodes from 2004/05ish on and way more filler episodes. The show in its prime was genius, and now it is just considered good imo.

Season 7 had Christian Rock Hard and Casa Bontia, two of my favorites. I also liked Butt Out! only because of the part where Kyle says they shouldn't go along with Rob Reiner because it would cause a huge big uproar and they'd have to do their signature "I've learned something today" talk. They end up doing it anyway and it's pretty funny.

Just a few random favorites off the top of my head:

Chinpokomon(3), Scott Tenorman Must Die(5), Super Best Friends(5), Towelie(5), Simpsons Did It(6), Lil' Crime Stoppers(7), Red Man's Greed(7), Christian Rock Hard(7 - probably my all time favorite), Grey Dawn(7), Casa Bonita(7), All About Mormons(7), The Losing Edge(9), Make Love Not Warcraft (10)

I could go on, but that's probably a nice sample. The sad part is I know all the titles and season numbers from memory...

Christian Rock Hard was amazing (I loved it when Matt and Trey showcase their music ability). Butt Out and Casa Bonita were very solid episodes (and would be the highlight of the season if they were shown this year). Was this the one with the reairing of the Raiders of the Lost Arc? I liked that episode alot along with Fat Butt Pancake hand or whatever it was (The jennifer lopez one). When they go random as hell it can either pay off great like that episode or fail miserably like oprah's talking minge.

I think that all those episodes you named were classics other than the losing edge and casa bonita (I do not recognize grey dawn or red man's greed (if that is the "they took our jobs" one then I wasn't too crazy about it). The scene in Christian rock hard where they played the infomercial clips of Faith plus one's different songs made me laugh my *** off like no other.

The Losing Edge was the beginning of Randy Marsh being one of the best characters on the show.

Grey Dawn is the one with the old people driving and they have to close Country Kitchen Buffet to stop the AARP from invading and taking South Park hostage.

Red Man's Greed is where the Indian casino takes all their houses. My favorite scene is when the townspeople are left with no option except to gamble $10,000 on one roulette number to get their houses back, and win. Then they "let it ride" and lose everything.

Red Man's Greed was the one where the Indian's had a casino and were going to build a super-highway across South Park. The citizens of South Park didn't like it, so they protested, so the Indians gave them SARs.

I've only seen Grey Dawn once (really surprising), but that's the one with the senior citizens going out of control driving over things. To shut them down they have to close their morning breakfast place or something (I cant remember it all that well).

EDIT: Beat me to it lol.

haahaaahaha I vaguely remember that one (good compliment on human nature). Other episodes I have loved are Cancelled, Trapper Keeper, Up the Down Steriod I think it was called, Cripple Fight, etc. Jimmy Vulmer was a pretty good character although I know alot of people hated him. Oh, Red Sleigh Down was awesome as well. The Safe sex episode probably was the most perverse (red rocket!) and one of the most enjoyable ones to watch imo. I dont even think its allowed to air uncut on comedy central anymore unless its like 3 am. And who could forget the movie? The entire thing was so effing brilliant and those musical scores were so amazing. When they decide to end the series, I want at least one more movie from them.

It was ok. I only laughed when they told Cartman he had AIDs and when Mr. Mackey tried to break up the fight. Hopefully next week will be better.
