Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
You should. I was skeptical at first but after watching the first TWO episodes I can tell you you're not wasting your time. Check out why the "sins of slavery" part of "The Declaration Of Independence" originally penned by Thomas Jefferson, was taken out. Very informative, very entertaining series.Comment

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
it will probably focus on him quite a bit i would think. In the upcoming episode, i believe is when Adams and Franklin go to France. John Quincy goes with them. While in Europe, John Quincy becomes quite a factor.Last edited by ZB9; 03-23-2008, 08:08 PM.Comment

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
Really getting into the history of the Revolutionary War because of this series (Just started Part 3).
By 1775 the British had authority over the pink and red area (Red obviously the 13 colonies), while Spain ruled the orange. By 1776 the population of the 13 "United States" was just under 2.5 million.Comment

I watched it this morning and have to agree that it was amazing. The guy that's playing George Washington looks so much like him it's unbelievable.Comment

I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
I have really enjoyed the first two episodes.
I had some reservation because I didn't think there would be any of the humor that existed in the Wire and Sopranos, and may lack the action that was in Rome.
It has been very interesting, and as many have written in the posts, casting for the historic characters has been pretty good. Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc....Comment

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
Also recently was the killer in Disturbia.
Anyways I caught this show a week ago saw a couple episodes as they played every episode. Last nights was alright but my god I was very annoyed at the French it was no wonder that the french people revolted and killed all the noble people they were all crazy.18-1 hell of a season regardlessComment

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
Not to make this the "David Morse"(George Washington) thread but he was also the police detective that hassled Dr.House about Vicodin possession among other stuff in a several week stretch of season 3. He was great in the unfortunately almost forgotten "Inside Moves" way back in 1980.Comment

Re: John Adams: HBO Miniseries
Last night's episode was decent, but not as good as the first two. It showed him being aggrevated, but I'm not quite sure they captured how truly aggrevating and helpless the whole situation was. European politics at the time was a whole exercise in frustration.
The other thing is that he must have been over in Europe for the better part of a year. He apparantly got nothing accomplished except figuring out that Franklin was a weasel with his own agenda.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment
