Just watched this movie again tonight. I'd have to say it's my favorite movie of all time. The last scene still gets to me every time! Using the search function it's humorous how many times this movie has been mentioned in threads over the life of these forums. Probably not the most original post of the day but it brings a smile to my face whenever I watch it! Have a safe day to all...

Agree 110%, my favorite movie of all time, I will watch this move over and over and I cant wait until it hits BR in November. On a side note, I really enjoy Tombstone, Open Range and Dances with Wolves as well but Shawshank is still my all time favorite.

The ending monologue, where Red is on the bus and talking about being a free man, is by far by favorite line in most any movie. Gives goosebumps to hear and watch it. It stays on my iPod at all times. I actually have a desktop with that phrase on it too........Great movie
