I was a big fan of the Integra Type R though.
For a regular car, I don't think I would ever get a Honda.

Now, if I was planning on trying to build up a car for street racing, my first choice would definitely be a Honda. They're cheap, the parts for them are cheap, and with the proper work and kits, you can turn them into true beasts.

If I'm just getting a car to drive around in, though, I'd pick a Nissan/Infiniti over Honda every day of the week.

Honda what though? Civic? You got to change a lot of parts around to get it running respectably on the drag strip or anywhere else. If anything a Civic SI but than again the cost on those is high. At least the older good ones.

My first car was a 99 Maxima SE stick. With some proper mods that thing ran like a beast. Fast, nice looking, and hell a lot of torque.

When I raced at the track with the Z I had no problems with any Honda. Except a couple well modded S2Ks.

Aren't all those Honda's FWD also? I may be old school, but if I want a car that I am going to get some performance out of, I stay away from FWD like the plague.

I do miss my Z, but the G35 eases the pain quite a bit. Actually my G35 has more horsepower and torque than my Z did.

Yeah, I was thinking more along the lines of a S2K because with the right parts you can actually turn those things into damn good cars. Especially suspension wise...there are a lot of good braces (the X-brace comes to mind, along with quite a few very good S2K specific Tein coilovers). Though I know quite a few people who have done some rather amazing things with SI's.

However, the best "modded" car I personally know of is one of my friends' 350Z. However, he's put so much money into that car that I could've bought and worked out two SIs for that price.

                    Yeah they are.

It is pretty much the same car except the G has more luxury. Plus you get the added back seat although it isn't much. Soon though BK, the GTR, soon.

That's a given. You can actually find quite a few Honda's that are RWD, though most are FWD-standard. But yeah, if you want to turn any car into a performance machine, whether it be on the drag strip or trying to show off drifting, getting a FWD car is basically asking to ruin the car or get laughed off the face of the planet.

The G35 is as good as advertised, right? I still think, in two or three years once I get out of college and need to buy a car of my own, I'll try and find a nice used 350z, but maybe by then the used G35s will be affordable.

Overall, though, if I'm going performance and actually have the money to put in...I'm going with a Nissan (240 or 350) pretty much every time. Things are just...beautiful and can be turned into monsters.

                          Yeah but S2Ks are expensive.

It all comes down to personal preference but a Z is a Z and a Civic is a Civic. No matter how fast that Civic may be.

The parts I bought were pretty cheap from a hook up I have in the city. If I was to go with the straight up from NISMO way I would pay like triple.

Also looking once more at the new Maxima, the more I look the more I don't like it. Their style is going more towards the Toyota Avalon and the Lexus GS model. While the Altima is becoming the Maxima of old.

Oh yeah. Like I said...if I had the money (or a hook-up like you) I'd go with a Z every time. But if I was a college student that wanted to get into the scene, I'd either have to go cheap with a 300zx if I wanted a Nissan, try and find a cheap, older 350, or go with a cheaper Honda. I know people who have bought SIs for less than people spent on a single part for the 350. Granted, you need to do more work on the Honda for it to reach the Z's level in the long run, but it's still a much more affordable option for most people around my age.

Trust me...in no way I'm saying a Honda is anywhere near a Z. Hell, my dream car is a 350z and I can't wait until I have the chance to own one.

By then you might be looking at the G37... looks beautiful at packs some nice heat. Listed at 35K new.

Hell...fresh out of college I'll be lucky if I could afford a used G35.

Probably why I'm aiming realistically and saying that I'll go for an 05 350 or something along those lines. By 2010 those will be dirt cheap.
