mine has been broken for years, since I fell asleep on the insterstate and hit the inside wall a little after the rumble strip woke me up. All I did was buy some red tape from autozone to cover up the broken plastic, and it even passes state inspection.

As for the original poster, it really sucks to be treated so badly for a minor offense.

Particularly when I was on my way to work. This incident cost me 8 hours of annual leave.

I got yanked out of my car in my own neighborhood by CHPD (aka Chapel Hill Pricks and D!cks) about a year ago, they said that "I fit the description". Some houses had got broken into down the road from my house. I understand that they were doing their job, but the way that they treated me was f'ed up. They ran my record, called me a dope boy (saying I sell drugs) I have a few priors from my teenage years (assault, failure to stop and attempting to elude) but those charges and that lifestyle are well behind me, im going for my masters at the moment. Cops suck.

OS showing no respect for the law...what a ****ing surprise.

Btw, if you've got a light out or any malfunction with your car, cops are well within their right to pull you over. If their system says you haven't paid... guess what, a warrant allows them to take you in...

So what exactly are you complaining about? A clerical error. Probably should think about what you're upset about before you go off on a tangent again.

Unless you have a vendetta against law enforcement as it seems most all on OS have. Of course its unfounded, but don't tell anyone on this site that.

I think his issue was with his treatment, not so much being stopped or the issue with an error in his system. He believes that he didn't do anything to give the officers particular reason to treat him poorly.

Take it easy. Just because the police are doing their jobs doesn't mean they have to treat everyone like crap. I'm not even talking about me I deserved what I got, I was awful. Cops have a reputation because of the bad ones... people are going to talk about the bad officers alot more then the good officer that treated them fairly. They can also be the same cop on two different days, he might treat someone very well one day and then because of circumstances the exact same case can be treated completely different. The problem with cops is that they are human and can't just be the same to everyone and every situation, this is why it's generally best to stay clear of the law.

LMAO it's not just OS. It's a majority of the country. Respect for law enforcement is decreasing overall imo.

much of law enforcement has turned into a money making racket nowadays. The "to protect and to serve" motto has become BS for the most part

The respect has decreased In your opinion? You must mean your respect in paricular with that ridiculous blanket statement. Money making racket? Man, I must have worked in the wrong place for the last 32 years.

I bet it's always been the same way. Think there weren't any crooked cops during prohibition?

yes true. There have always been crooked cops

there are also some very good people in law enforcement obviously. The system is becoming messed up though and many of those that are in it for the right reason are screwed over.

Much of the system is about quotas and stats nowadays...and if they can convict someone, they will, regardless if someone is actually guilty or not.
