How is it not sourthern AT ALL if it's one of the two southernmost states (that or Florida obviously... i dont feel like looking up which is lower) in the continental U.S. and its, geographically, right in the middle?

Oh, and I wouldn't consider Oklahoma midwestern. I have trouble considering Kansas, Nebraska, and the Dakotas to be "midwestern" either... i mean, I guess... but I dunno.

culturally, Texas is more western than southern overall...but it really has a mix of both. It is "southwestern"

geographically, Texas is "southwestern". I would consider it a region of the west

Whether "midwestern" or "southwestern", Oklahoma is part of the western region.....but It isnt "southern"

Kansas and Nebraska are about as midwest as you can get

I updated this info at the top of the page:
                  YELLOW-NORTHEASTERN- 21%
                  BLUE-SOUTHEASTERN- 23%
                  RED-MIDWESTERN- 33%
                  TAN-WESTERN- 23%
These are the population percentages of each of these particular regions. In other words (for example) the Midwestern region comprises 33% of the total US population.

I'm sorry but I've taught geography before. I can't go by a map that lumps the good people of the REAL MIDWEST with folks from Louisiana and Arkansas.

This map is much more accurate...

                      For Milbut

In my mind, this map is much much more accurate than the one in the OP.
