    Fawlty Towers

I don't know if u guys like British humor, but I do. Fawlty Towers is one of the funniest shows ever imo. I think John Cleese is a genius.
Here are some of the best moments:

I LOVE that show. Used to watch it at my grandma's house many moons ago, and i bought the DVD set a few years back. Its definitely the great, dry humor.

I love John Cleese but did not like "Faulty Towers". I watched about 4 or 5 episodes with my HUGE FAN BROTHER and found them BORING.

Fawlty, not Faulty. Well, watching it and getting bored is probably because many Americans don't like British humor. Personally I love it! I also liked "Are you being served?" and "Yes, prime minister". I guess I like both British and American humors.

I loved "Monty Python" and the British "Office", but Cleese's role in "Fawlty"Towers wasn't to my liking at all. I guess it's possible to like British humor but not ALL British humor.

I've seen a few episodes of Fawlty Towers and it's pretty good. I like Cleese's relationship with the Spanish help. (Manuel I believe?) I absolutely LOVED Are you Being Served? and I think its humor has seeped into American humor. Just look at old episodes of Night Court and you'll see that it's more or less a toned down (and different situation) version of AYBS?. I even watched a few episodes of Are you Being Served Again? which had the characters at an old country inn. Unfortunately it just didn't have the panache of the original series.

I loved "Night Court"! And yeah, "Are you Being Served Again" just didin't have the magic of the original show. But I loved the characters! I can still hear in my head Mr. humphries asking: "Captain Peacock, are u free?" LOL

PS: U can find in youtube complete episodes of "Are you being served?".

Mr. Humphries was a genius character. I loved how the writers made him insanely gay but they never confirmed in one way or another if he was truly homosexual.

Also as a kid and watching the show on reruns I had a crush on Miss Brahms. How embarrassed was I to learn that the show was taped during the 1970s! I thought it was a 1980s show.

                    Ah well...

It's now officially "Are you being served" thread! As for the time the show was aired, I thought it was the 80's too! I checked out at IMDB 10 minutes ago and saw that it was first aired in 1973, but that doesn't really matters. It just shows u that the show was ahead of its time. As for Miss Brahms - she was HOT! And "Young" Mr. Grace's secretaries were always HOT too. LOL

Definitely on R2. I'm sure there are some R1 discs available.
