If you watch the cartoon "the clone wars" when they had it on the cartoon network. Windu took out armies and legions of the droid soilders by himself with no light saber at all. I'm not sure how much the writers corrabarated with Lucas on the story and what was what, but in an episode of the series Windu alone stops at least 5,000 droid soldiers by himself, force crushes and beats the crap out of General Greivas which is why he is always coughing in the movie. Takes out some of the more bigger tank like droids also by himself and stops other happenings pretty much all on his own without any help, without a light saber (lossed it while fighting).

There was a clip of it on youtube I'll post it.

That was just a small sample of what he did in the series. There was more but can't find all of it.

Obi Wan reached his full potential in my opinion what he gave was the most that he could muster. Anakin on the other hand was held back by the Jedi and the Emperor himself from ever being the most powerful user of the force he could be.
I would say that Anakin lived up to his potential, even exceeded it - but not in the way everyone wanted him to. He wasn't a Derrick Coleman. More like a Barry Bonds with his Vadar days being during his HGH/steroids bit. On that note, it would be kind of fun to liken star wars characters to actual athletes. I'll have to work on this...

There's a softcover book called "Star Wars: The New Essential Chronology" that covers everything written and produced up to the last year or two. There are also companion volumes that cover characters, vehicles, and planets.

One that covers the movies and has a lot of images and info is "Star Wars: The Ultimate Visual Guide".

                Enjoy!

I have them both...the former is a strict timeline with entries like the Attack on Yavin, the Hunt for Darth Sidious, etc. It also has profiles on the major characters from the novels, from the movies, and even from the KOTOR games.

Oh, and it does have an index.

The latter is not as in depth and uses images from the movies as well as drawings (the Chronology is only full color art, no movie pics). It still covers the whole timeline with emphasis naturally on the events covered in the movies.

EDIT: They aren't really "books", more like reference guides. You can read through them though for way more insight than you could ever imagine about that galaxy far, far away.

A Star Wars buddy of mine who read all the novels and such, told me that after "Return of the Jedi" Luke actually does join the Dark Side for awhile, but is brought back. And he told me that Chewy dies. That is all.

Yep, Chewie dies by a MOON falling on him if I believe correctly trying to save Anakin Solo.
