 Re: The Pineapple Express

No way in hell the next Harold & Kumar tops the original...

However, I am definitely looking forward to Pineapple Express. I watched a scene months ago when Superbad came out on DVD (Special Features). It should be pretty damn good, as is anything with Seth Rogen and the whole Judd Apatow crew.Comment

 Re: The Pineapple Express

I know it's too early(opens April 8th) to start really getting into this movie but it's interesting that Rogen said he was hoping for a bigger budget than $25 million but the drug heavy subject manner prevented an expanding of the budget.

 Re: The Pineapple Express

Saw this movie tonight, pretty damn funny. Not quite as funny as Superbad but that's not taking away from this movie.

Definitely worth going to see.Originally posted by CardsFan27This is the 3rd time John Calipari has been to his first Final Four! What I'm Currently Listening ToComment

 Re: The Pineapple Express

I saw it earlier in the week and I have to disagree. It's nowhere near as good as 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up or Superbad. Those, on the surface, were all extended sex jokes but they all had a good story behind them and likable characters. Pinapple Express is an extended weed joke that turns into an action movie for the last hour. It's defiintely got some quality laughs throughout, but it's not as funny as the previously mentioned movies and the story/characters are a LOT worse.

I think Aptow and Rogan got bored and wanted to try to make an action movie, they used a lowest common denominator(weed) to fuel the story and got to have some big action scenes and blow some things up.

I'm not recommending this as a must-see in theaters, it is certainly worth a rental but I'm very glad I didn't pay to see it in a theater.Comment

 Re: The Pineapple Express

It is, but they do a ton of advance screenings. It's for the press but there's only a handful of them so they give away a few hundred tickets to fill up the rest of the theater(give away a few hundred, but seating availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis).Comment

 Re: The Pineapple Express

It has it's fair share of laughs, it just doesn't stack up to the other three I mentioned earlier. Worth seeing, but I wouldn't recommend people rush to the theater, just my two cents.Comment
