Gotta jump into this thread. I've had a Storm for about 6 months now and I freakin' love it. Disappointed that the Storm 2 is going away from the click touch screen. That's probably the main thing I like better about this phone than the iPhone.

Like I said, I got mine tonight, LOVE it so far.

I'm kinda sad a new one is coming out so soon when I just got this one, but oh well.

I totally agree about the click screen though... I really really like it, especially after using the iphone for over a year now.

I had to switch out my Storm for a new one this past week because the screen went dead. The rest of the phone worked fine as I still received texts and could call out, I just couldn't see anything. I still have a little bit of trouble texting - sometimes I'll hit the key beside the one I wanted and this spellcheck has to be the dumbest spellcheck in the world, I don't understand how it comes up with half the words it suggest. And include me in the group who likes the click screen. I'm not a big fan of the sound, especially when you're trying to be quiet, but I like the feedback of "pressing" something on the screen.

Glad to hear you guys are enjoying your storms. I have a friend (Not TJ, He's not my friend) who has one and likes it as well. The only complaint he has is that the battery life is kind of on the low side.

dickdalewood, what would you say are the positives of the storm compared to the Iphone?

Accelerometer works better. I personally like the screen/click functionality better.

I like how, no matter the app (be it text, internet, email, whatever), I can always turn the phone horizontally to use the larger qwerty keyboard.

I find the general intuitiveness of the applications to be very slick, as is common for Blackberrys. Email is a breeze, visual voicemail is well done, etc.

The internet also runs much faster, and is just as easy to navigate.

Plus, as far as the phone functionality itself goes, the iphone had a terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE earpiece. With the volume completely turned up, if I was driving, I was lucky to hear anything being said on the other end.

Like I said, personally, I feel the entire package is just more solid and better built.

I will say though, that if the Storm 2 is released within the next 30 days, I'll probably go swap out for it. I said I like the click feedback of the screen better, and I do, but it still isn't quite as fast as a pure touch interface. So I'd be willing to sacrafice the click for the speed. Either way though, I'm very happy I made the switch.

Is everything the same on the Storm like the Curve? Facebook, email's, etc all updated on the top of the screen letting you know when you get new updates?

Like Chubby said, it's the same. It wouldn't be a BlackBerry without all that stuff.

I just like having some sort of confirmation that I clicked something. The blue "haze" that appears around the keys as I'm texting, coupled with the click of the screen do the trick for me. I had an LG Voyager that would vibrate for like half a second to confirm that you clicked something on the touchscreen. If the Storm 2 doesn't have the click screen, I hope they at least adopt that method of "click confirmation".

I will say though, that if the Storm 2 is released within the next 30 days, I'll probably go swap out for it.

Rumors out there suggest a June release for the Storm 2, so you'll be cutting it close if it leans towards the end of the month.

I agree. The Confirmation Click is great.

About the only real gripe I have is that the enter and backspace keys are too close on the Landscape keyboard.

Well, for what it's worth, I went into my Verizon today, and the manager there told me they just had their big "new devices meeting" and that there are no new Blackberrys coming to Verizon this year. So... who knows.

And DickDalewood I thought the Blackberry Tour (Niagara) was coming out in July for Verizon.

It's basically a combination of the World Phone/Curve, with the Bold's OS I believe.

Yah, I heard that too. Like I said, it's just what I was told by a Verizon manager. From my time at ATT, I remember the "new device meetings" being very accurate, but that doesn't mean we were always told EVERYthing.
