After having my Curve for about two weeks I am thrilled with this phone and extremely happy I did not go with the iPhone. The iPhone is basically a toy in comparison to this badass device.

I finally have everything customized to the way I want, got my new apps up and running and all my synching working properly. This is definitely one of those pieces of technology that makes you wonder how you ever lived without it.

One question...

In the top right of the screen near the signal strength bars in blue font I have 1XEV. I cannot find a way to clear this missed event indicator, I've checked everything imaginable. Anyone know what this is?

That's just telling you that you have a 3G connection.

Pretty much showing you that you are on the network

If your service stops working and its a small 1x then you know its a problem with the network

i just won a blackberry storm at the pens game. i have att and an iphone.

pm me if anybody is interested in this phone. if not, im putting on ebay, selling it for retail vaule (maybe more). no contract extension with this.

So I'm due for a full upgrade (through T-Mobile) in about a month and I'm def. going with a BlackBerry.

I thought about going with the 8700g but now I'm leaning towards the Curve 8900.

Basically, do the two really compare or does the 8900 just completely blow it away?

Any help would greatly be appreciated, just doing all the research I can before I'm able to get a new phone...thanks.

Get the curve... all blackberry's seem to have the same interface and all. The 8700g looks like the older model phones.

We have boxes of those things we just trashed

Nah cost really isn't an issue...it's only like $50 more for the Curve.

I just didn't know if the interface and applications, etc. were updated with each new model and all that...seems like the Curve is an upgrade on everything though (memory, sound, picture, etc.)

Yeah dont know why i was thinking of the chirp one by nextel.. Get the curve, even though its not that new and exciting to me, its the one everyone is going nuts over for some reason. Maybe its because they're more accessible now I dont know...but yeah the curve is worth it over that old phone

Wish i had the dough man... still though the typing on the Storm from testing it is the worst.

It does alot of nice things though so im sure you wont have an issue selling it

I have both. Dude, get the 8900. I use my 8700g as a backup, it's older. My 8900 is now unlocked!
