Re: Tim Russert passes away
That is sad. He went to college in Cleveland and often made trips back here for important events, debates, etc. Someone with his experience will be missed during this presidential campaign.Comment

"Russert, 58, was vacationing with his family in Italy, he returned last night. Collapsed while recording a track at bureau in DC..." - Drudge Report
Pretty shocking. Was watching the news and when they began on a breaking news story, I figured it was about the thing in Kandahar and then I saw the headline...Wow

Re: Tim Russert passes away
He was one of my favourite news personalities. He was often fair and balanced in his views and I loved how he moderated MEET THE PRESS. he, unlike other guys in his position allowed his guests from both sides of the political spectrum to fully expand upon their points.
He was also a great ambassador for Buffalo as he came from the area and was a huge Bills fan. He often visited Buffalo and did charitable activities for the community there.
This is just shocking and very sad

Re: Tim Russert passes away
Both my wife and I are bumming about this, which tells you a lot about Russert. The frau is a rock-ribbed Republican; I'm a Libertarian. Yet we both loved and respected Russert.
Russert was an upstate N.Y. guy who made it big but NEVER forgot his roots from this neck of the woods. Plus he was one of the few remaining major TV journalists without a political agenda. His only aim was to seek truth and prevent politicians from spinning and waffling.
This is a huge loss to American journalism.
Plus by all accounts, Russert was a big-time family man, another rarity in the network news business.
Such a shame.
Take care,
