Alright well that's one less thing to worry about. Thanks.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

72" for only $2469? Have prices fallen that much? I probably shouldn't say "only" as that's a lot of money to some people, but I expected 72" to be around $5000-$6000. I know it was 3 years ago, but the 46" I got then was about $2000 + $400 for a stand.

With that said, I'd need to buy a bigger house to fit a 72" TV into (new house will happen in 2-3 years after the wedding). I'd be sitting way too close to that thing and would end up going crazy. 50" is about perfect in the room I have my TV - and I do wish I got the 50" over the 46" back then!

I couldn't imagine a TV bigger than 47" in my room, plus I can't hang that TV above my fireplace

It's all on room size for TV's. If you have a large room, then a 72" will look awesome, but if you have a small room, then it'll just look bad IMO.

And yes, DLP has really dropped in price. A 50" runs like $1200 now. CC sells that 72" by my house for $2200.

Wow, 72" is just too big IMO. You must have a really big room to put that in.

            Re: Plasma vs LCD

I had a 65" TV at one time, that thing was a monster. I can't imagine having a 72" TV, it'd be nice if the room can handle it. When I went plasma I dropped to 58" and I must admit at first I was missing the 7" drop, but plasmas are so pretty.

jmood, the 1080p/720p debate all comes down to the size of TV you get. I don't know what size you are getting, but 42" and up, I'd get someone at a store to put in a Blu-ray for you on the TV and let your eyes decide.

A general rule of thumb is that if you sit at a normal distance, you won't notice a difference
between 720p and 1080p if you have a 50" or smaller tv.

I've never been a fan of the Olevia TVs I've seen, but I definitely wouldn't get one now because it appears they have gone bankrupt:

I just bought this TV and it is great. If you have the money, this one would be a pretty good buy. Panasonic has really impressed me with the Viera series plasmas. Unfortunately, I don't know much about their LCDs.

So you went with Vann's and the Panny huh?

Im sure you love it, and appreciates the sparkle it gives off. I already know you do. Im glad you went that route.

I found Vanns.com out of nowhere and saw so many great deals on there I almost fell over. Glad you came out like a bandit but give us more detail : )

I got my LCD from Vanns. It was $50 cheaper there than anywhere else. Great site, and very assuring packaging.

I posted a few initial impressions in my thread. Vanns is pretty good on pricing. Free shipping and no sales tax sealed my business. The shipping surprised me though. It came Yellow Freight, and the driver that came to my house used to deliver to a warehouse I worked at. He was all about having a long conversation with me, and the whole time I was just trying to rush inside and hook the bad boy up. Anyway, I'm loving the TV, and would definitely recommend Panasonic plasmas to anyone.

LOL, that's pretty ironic and funny at the same time.

Those Panny's are the business though.

They make a solid LCD, but they only make them up to 32".

Everything above 32" is a plasma for Panasonic.

I am still loving my to death. I hadn't realized just how top-notch the Panasonics are. I would definitely recommend, plus the prices are more than reasonable.
