If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -

The Viera sets though are solid as well. My dad has a Vierra 1080p Plasma and I hear nothing but good stuff about Viera sets.Comment

Re: Plasma vs LCD
Skip the Panny because there are better Panny tv's out there than that one, although they're all great,
I'd say just future proof yourself and get the 1080p Sammy if you dont mind paying the extra dough, but if you pay that much might as well save a couple of hundred more for a bigger 1080p set.
Either of the Sammy's will do you just fine. You won't be losing out either way.Comment

Re: Plasma vs LCD
Congrats on the purchase Jmood, props for taking your time about it.
So the other day a friend of mine was asking me to help him find a decently priced TV that would double well as a PC monitor. After a bit of searching for a product in his price range I found this TV/Monitor seemed pretty decent for $450 although I can't find anyone selling it. Thoughts?Comment

Re: Plasma vs LCD
I bought a 57" Toshiba rear projection set about 3 1/2 years ago at Sears. I got the maintenance agreement with it. The TV went out with lens problems. Their repair center people have been jerking us around for the last month. After talking to a manager at their corporate office, they are giving me this tv and a stand to put it on:

Needless to say, I'm psyched. I've wanted an LCD or Plasma for a while now, but wasn't going to spend the money. Maintenance agreements can be a very good thing.Mario Kart Wii: 1203 9969 5095
