And FN wasn't over-rated. One of Pixar's best movies, EVER. Up there with the original Toy Story and Monsters, Inc.

Wall-E is right there with the top of the bunch. It's comparable to Finding Nemo, Incredibles, Monsters Inc., and Toy Story.

You won't be disappointed.

I just read thru the thread again... 19 "Great" reviews for this movie from our OS brethren (one of those being me), ZERO "bad/or even okay" reviews... seems pretty unanimous that this movie was kickass...

One negative from it though... don't let any children near that Beverly Hills Chihuahua preview... they'll want to see it... for God only knows what reason.

Yep, I'm late. So sue me.....

I left this movie tonight w/an "eh" feeling. As a film it was just short of a masterpiece. For entertainment, it bombed. I'll explain myself.......

I think some exec in the boardroom screwed this movie up. I'm willing to bet the creators wanted almost zero dialogue. If they had been allowed to do it, this would have been a milestone in film making. They did a terrific job in making this rustbucket "cute" & creating empathy for it. But once they added human actors, it became just another movie. & now it needed the entertainment value. There were some chuckle moments, OK. But compare it to Kung Fu Panda and it seemed boring & inferior despite the better story.

If the creators had been allowed to tell the entire story w/just the imagery & interaction w/the robots, this would be worthy of the Oscar buzz. The animation & the background scenery were excellent & were doing the job. But no doubt some movie execs wanted to sell outside merchandise & compromised the animators vision & accomplishment.

This shouldn't have been a summer release. They should have kept out Willard & the interaction w/humans, released it late fall & it would have earned nomination for Best Film. What I saw was in the end, a subpar Pixar effort. It tried to blend in blockbuster w/art & fell short on both fronts.
