So true, JP1's CGI and animatronics, which was made so long ago, still looks better than 90% of the crap we see today. Look at King Kong. Much, much bigger budget and while some stuff was done extremely well, other CGI scenes are embarassing.

First one was a classic, and I loved the 3rd one (actually was happy to see the T-Rex killed because in real life, the spinosaur was larger than it).

The second was a pile of poo with that whole "T Rex in San Diego" garbage

I was just sitting here thinking the same thing, and then saw this thread. The movies really have been on a ton lately, there were two on today including the 2nd one right now. I know the fourth is in pre-production, with a possible 2009 release.

Saw half of the 2nd one today on Fox; now I know why I only saw it once before. WTH was I thinking? That movie is just straight up garbage. The young girl doing crazy stunts and knocking the Raptor off? Not to mention she got its attention by saying "hey you." WTF?

Forget all this child's play. Make the 4th one straight up rated R.

15 years ago this month they released the original JP.

I watched it last night...what a great movie...special effects are still amazing in my opinion.

Yep June 11 1993. I saw that movie about 5 times that first week. That was when it was like $5.50 to go to the movies.

Wasnt a big fan of 2 or 3, but the first one was very well done. Had a good feelings to it.
