I saw the original at the drive-in that used to be near my house. I remember that it was storming outside and in the movie, so you couldn't tell if the thunder and/or lightning was real or from the movie.
My mom made me read the junior novel before I could see the second one. I liked the second sure. It surely didn't live up to the first, but it was decent.
The third was just bad. It was rushed at the end too. It reminded me of writing a good paper on a timed prompt, then realizing you didn't have as much time as you thought to finish the paper, so you rush through the end.
