I also really liked this mini-series. They did a fantastic job with it. The dialog was outstanding and the scenes of war were directed very well. I would love if this was turned into a full blown show like that show FX did for a season. I forget the name of it but I was pissed they cancelled it.

Thanks for pointing that out EG.

Didn't even know that one existed. I'll definitely be checking it out.

Ok. I know I dug this thread up, but I just had to. Hopefully you'll understand.

After the suggestion from members here at OS, *cough*ExtremeGamer*cough*, I went out and picked up the book from Evan Wright of the same name.

Wow is all I can say. I couldn't hardly put it down. The series follows the book almost to the letter, but the book does a good job of going into more depth about some of the things 1st Recon went through, and explains what happens to some of the secondary characters/marines they encounter along the way.

It's a good read, and you can probably do what I did and pick up a copy used on Amazon Marketplace for like $2 or so. Anyone who liked the series I will echo the suggestion.

I don't really even like to read that much, but this book was that good.

I might even have to go pick up Nathaniel Fick's book now...

Again, sorry for the re-birth, but I thought I'd let other members here know what I thought.

This actually reminds me. One of my sister's friends was in one of the other companies, but he was friends with most of the guys and he said that most of that stuff is spot on and not really exaggerated. It was cool talking to him about it all
