Rap is espeically hard I agree to judge. Especially considering getting the right producers and sound to your album isn't so much created by the artist himself.
That's just the thing I'm talking about right there. What does that have to do with the music? In guitar, if you're talking about one guy being better than the other, they have a solo battle and it's up for judgement.

Rap used to be like that, but somewhere along the line fans got really into all this crap that happens off of the mic, and I just can't get into it. It seems like a lot of young or poor people fantasizing about the lifestyles of these men, more so than it sounds like people actually being moved by music.

It's good to see tha Jay is still letting Bleek eat by having him on stage with him. I really likes Bleek's first album then nothing. At least he is still getting paid. "Feed Memphis Bleek in 08."

      Sorry. Slow day at work.

I bet the title was made that way on purpose.

If Pac being killed made him overrated, then credit Biggie's death as the catalyst for diddy's GOAT propaganda. Because no one was calling him that while he was still alive, and that's for damn sure.

He died before his second album came out.

Also to the Pac point, sure he died prematurely but I don't get how that automatically means he has garnered undue credit. The absorbant amount of tracks he recorded is ridiculous.

Not to take this that far off topic but I dont get Jay has a MUCH better argument about being best rapper alive/ever than Pac does. I was in college when Pac died and if you would have tried to make an argument back then that Pac was the greatest rapper alive....you would have been laughed at. What happened was he died and people forgot that he really only had 2 good albums and only 2 maybe 3 hit singles before he died.

Just cause you made alot of tracks doesnt mean they are good. Wayne probably does 2 tracks a night and the majority of his stuff is trash (even though I like the Carter 3). Quantity doesnt matter...Quality does.

Producers? I dont think Jay has ever produced a song in his career.

Look I'm a Jay fan but if you dont have him somewhere in your top 5...you are nuts. In every category: sales, lyrics, business, longevity, effect on the industry...he's done it all. Most other rappers either arent lyrically as good as him, cant sell a record to save his life or hasnt been around long enough to be considered the best.

I agree. Imo, Pac and Big cant be considered the best ever because they werent around long enough. I thing Big has a better argument because he came with 2 classic albums before he died.

He never did production work? I could've sworn he produced for some other acts? I must be confusing him with someone else. Oh well that's what I get for speaking about rap

I will admit I do like some of his songs. The guy is pretty good when you just sit back and listen without getting into the whole "this guy is better then that guy" and "beef" BS.

You are probably confusing him with Puffy...which you should never do again (jk)

All I get from Puffy's production is using the choruses from already famous songs to get airplay or maybe I haven't heard enough of his songs.

Agreed. The only thing that annoys me about him (and it's not really his fault) is his fanboys. They can be annoying as ****.

My bad on the title. I wrote it up this morning without much consideration over mistaken reading.
