    Re: Nas: Untitled

After letting this sink in, I really feel like this is a histoic album.

I think the combination of: Nas sounding so pointed and focused, the superb production, the 'intelligent' content, and the fact that 90% of mainstream hip-hop is a farce makes this easily one of the best albums of 2008. I am loving the fact that he didn't have T-Pain, Wayne or even Kanye or Jay featured on it.

Props to Nasty Nas, he may be the best the game has to offer at this point.

i'll go with the first statement.

anyway even if i put my personal feelings aside for this publicity stunt this has-been is using, i really did not like any of the tracks that i heard.

Well, I don't think this album is "historic" (gotta expound on that for me) but it is an excellent album. Nas is one of those rappers who when I hear him spit, he exemplifies the area he is from. To top it off, dude is very intelligent, definitely one of the best we got doing it today.

I would like to know why you think he's a has-been Vick, out of curiosity, not for an argument.

well i don't really think he is, i just put anything there to amplify the lost of respect i have for him. i mean i was ok with him before hip-hop is dead, and untitled even though i only liked ether and one mic from all of the songs in his repertoire. i guess he could be a has-been because of that.

I am right with you on losing respect for him when he came out with that Hip Hop is Dead ish. It could be just as you said, a publicity stunt, but it triggered a flood of parrots to start echoing that nonsense. Not only that, I just figured he was a lot smarter than that. I'm feeling this album though.

This is the first rap album I have listened to since The Emcees Properganda... Pretty good album.

I believe this will go down as his best work. Maybe I should have used the term "classic". Illmatic and Untitled are right next to each other.

This one is gonna have to grow on me. NaS came correct with his rhymes (as he usually does) but, I think most of the production is weak at best. I didn't like HHID at all save for 2 or 3 tracks. I will give it a few more spins but as of right now I'm very disappointed.
