If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :) -
Re: Nas: Untitled
There's a reason people make dumb-downed music. Because that's what people support. Rich Boy put out a video of "Let's Get This Paper" which is something that he actually talked about something on and it didn't get widely noticed. Plies put out "100 Years" video, and it didn't get the recognition 'Shawty' and 'Bust It Baby' got.Xbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

Hero might be the best non-club single I've ever heard.
I hope my neighbor like it, because I've been banging that song for the last few hours. If I have to hear her fat *** get her spine blown out, she can hear Nas.
The rest of the album I wasn't really feeling. Up until Sly Fox it was pretty good, but about halfway through that song it becomes overtly political and I hate politics in music.Comment

Re: Nas: Untitled
Too many slow tempo songs on the album. He followed Hero with a wack slow tempo song and The Slave and the Master with another slow tempo song. Really messed up the vibe.
As with alot of Nas' albums, there are some songs that stand with his best ever and some are trash."Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

I personally don't feel the political content takes away from it, I just wonder how this release will age, and be looked at in the future.
His flow throughout the album is absurd. I really don't think there are much throwaway tracks on it.. I can pretty much listen to it all the way through. It's definitely an album I won't be playing over and over again since it's pretty heavy in content.Comment

Re: Nas: Untitled
I can like a song that's a politically charged song, even if I disagree with it (which is pretty likely when you're dealing with high school dropouts). But about halfway through Sly Fox, he pretty much just starts talking. I'm not listening to a song to hear some dude talk about his political views even if it's exactly what I believe. And by talk, I mean literally talk. I hate all talking on raps unless it's 50 goofing on someone.Comment

Re: Nas: Untitled
I'll be interested to hear this. I liked HHID a lot but my general interest towards hip-hop as all but died. Sounds like this is quite a bit different from HHID but still the same 'ol Nas (which is a great thing) in terms of strong lyrics but questionable beats."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
"Beware of geeks bearing formulas." - Warren BuffetComment

Re: Nas: Untitled
If you liked HHID, and like Nas, which both seem to apply to you.. then I'm certain you'll be satisfied with this.
I feel the beats are nice and organic. Not too overproduced like much of mainstream rap music is.Comment

Re: Nas: Untitled
I don't see how Nas is going at 50 on 'Queens Get the Money'. People on the net are saying the verse was a shot at 50 but I don't see it.

Re: Nas: Untitled
Take 27 MC's, put 'em in a line and they out of alignment
My assignment since he said retirement
Hiding behind 8 Mile and The Chronic
Gets rich but dies rhymin'
This is high science
Now add 23 more
From Queens to B-More
I'm over they heads
Like a bulimic on a see-saw
Now that's 50 porch-monkeys ate up at the same time
50 is from Queens and made a song called Baltimore (B-More) Love Thing.
Hiding behind 8 Mile (Eminem) and the Chronic (Dr. Dre).
"Gets Rich but Dies Rhymin" is a reference to "Get Rich or Die Tryin"Comment
