I went through the other thread and saw people post Jason Aldean's Green Tractor.. liked the song and got his entire album [Wide Open].

Can anyone suggest artists and albums that are similar to Jason Aldean's Wide Open? I'm a sucker for those types of songs.

The only "country" I have is Blake and Kenny Chesney.
you should check out Gary Allen. He's a mainstream artist with some really good love songs.

Here's a great love song, that you can really two step to, from the Randy Rogers Band...a not so mainstream band, but it is better than most of the stuff you hear on the radio these days imo

Randy Rogers Band is better then anything you will hear anywhere. Their newest CD is greatness and was voted Playboys Album of the Year.

You can hear it in full here - http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?f...lbumid=8667395

In My Arms Instead, One Woman, Buy Myself a Chance are my personal favorites, but I could listen to the entire CD over and over.

These are my personal favorites from older albums
      Spoiler

I got to meet Randy Rogers a couple months ago before one of his acoustic shows. I am friends with his godfather and I went in to see him at the restaurant they were playing at and he was just sitting there chilling

No prob, just make sure you check out all the Randy Rogers songs I gave you If you like them I can send you some more. A lot of the good stuff isn't what they released at singles, so it's not on the net anywhere.

                  Re: OS Country Music Thread

Hey all, I have recently started listening to more and more country than hip hop/mostly rap. I just feel as though most artist in the hip hop world come off as concieted and seem to brag about an expensive life that many of us will never experience. I personally don't want to hear about that or drugs, guns, violence and B***hes. Country seems to talk to the everyday guy about regular things. I have soo many favorites now its crazy. You guys should see the look my friends give me. haha...but question, there is a song that I admit has rubbed me the wrong way. It talks about gangsters then proceeds to say something like "hang him in the tree for everyone to see, Victory." Now I don't want to jump to conclusions but could some one plz explain a backstory of this song?

It might be a Toby Keith song, though, I can't be sure, I only heard something that sounds like that briefly while changing between stations.

                      EDIT: Beer for my Horses?

                          No more Brooks & Dunn.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Brooks & Dunn, the biggest-selling duo in country music history, are splitting up after 20 years together, the musicians said on Monday.

Singer/guitarists Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn said in a statement that "it's just time," but that they would launch a farewell tour next year.

"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day," they said.

"This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed.... We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."

Which is kinda sad, as they are one of the few country talents I really enjoy. I'll be buying the greatest hits they release in Sept.

My first reaction was "meh" when I heard that. Their recent music has been average at best. They are still doing 1 more tour.

I say 3 years until they put another CD out.

I agree not really impressed with their new stuff. But definately think they will end up doing more than this final tour together.

If your looking for a Big Concert B&D by far put on the best show I have ever seen. But I still think best concert I have ever seen is Eric Church.

Eric Church does not do big shows just little honky tonks around the country. Great Music and usually sticks around afterwards for a beer or two.
