    Re: Nip Tuck TV Show

Oh and make no mistake about it, Christian giving up Sean was no doubt the most difficult thing he could ever do in his life, that's why I particularly liked it. It really was a great way to show that the character changed but also stayed the same (the end scene) and simply accepted that part of him for what it was: something he could never change.

In fact that's really what I liked best, and was surprised the most about, was the fact that of all characters the one that found redemption was Christian. He really seemed beyond redemption. I liked how Matt stayed in character and did the dumb, despicable and self-destroying thing, trading on his daughter for a chance with Ava.

I've heard some speculate a spin-off in the works with Ava and Matt but it may just be BS.
A spin off? Yeah I agree with you that has to be BS. No way those two could carry a show an entire season. I mean the hell would it be about? The life and times of raising a kid with a Bum for a Dad and a Tranny Mom?

Anyways, I just hope that they leave the show alone and let it end gracefully like they did. However, there was a part of me that wanted to see the Carver come in and just off the whole family in the closing minutes or for Matt and Ava's plane to blow up or something crazy like that. At least an ending like that would have put any speculation to rest.

HAHA omg we are alike, I kept thinking that the plane would blow up and kill most of them right at the end. That really would have been more keeping with the tradition of nip/tuck giving a big F-U to traditional TV format. So yeah, I was thinking the same exact thing.

Did you notice that ****** name they kept calling for in the airport? I forget what it was but it was the same name they kept saying to report to a terminal and they said it like three or four times. It almost seems as if it should have meant something. Like Martha Barlow or something.

The episode overall was boring and dull much like the last season or 2 were but the final 10 minutes with Christian making Sean go do what he's always wanted was fantastic and reminded me about why i loved this show. It's just too bad the show had to crawl to get to those last 10 minutes.

Hmmm..I see your point, I'm not sure boring was the right word though IMO, more like sedate by Nip/Tuck standards. I think it somewhat had to be that way to tie up some of the loose ends.

I guess I should rent the first season now as I never saw it. I believe I started watching sometime in season 2.

Yeah, when it showed Christan, Sean, Matt, Ava and Jenna all at the airport I just knew something was going to go down. Either something with a plane or an explosive. It was kind of disappointing when nothing happened. Perhaps, Ryan Murphy wants to leave a door open for the future, just in case.

Anyways, I didn't even noticed that about the woman's name. I'll watch that part again On Demand to see if I catch anything.

On another note, did you notice the sappy song that was played during the dinner scene was the same song they played at the end of Season 2 when Christan got carved? I thought that was a nice touch. Although, the song was another reason why I thought something shocking was going down.

It was definitely time for the show to end. Even since the show moved out to Cali it's been pretty much hit or miss. The last few season's especially. However, I did enjoy last weeks episode.

I didn't notice that song was the same, that's a great catch. As for me, I know what you mean about it being hit or miss lately. Each week I really couldn't wait to watch the ep, I would immediately watch it after it started (to avoid commercials) but sometimes I was disappointed. However it was one of the few shows that I always would make a point to IMMEDIATELY watch each week (Lost, The Office and Supernatural are a few others that come to mind).

So I'm ambivalent about it ending. It really needed to end due to it's declining quality and lack of direction & reptition but at the same time I really feel that I'm sorry that I'll not be able to sit down and watch it each week anymore as well.

I guess that's probably a good sign that it picked the right time for it to end huh?

Yeah, I think it ended at the right time and although, it hasn't been as good lately, theres still a part of me that is going to miss it.

Here's the show at it's best, IMO and this is probably one of the best (if not the best) season ending cliff hanger's in Television history.
